Hi,
The friend who had rented in the 5th is currently on a tour in Australia and I can't reach her. But she had rented from Paris Stay about 18months ago. My notes were that the apartment was in the 5th and was something like Mouffetard Gobelins. I think it was around 650euros for a week and she liked it. Have no idea whether this is near where you want to be as I am not familiar with the 5th.
If you can find their web site you may be able to locate the apartment. Good Luck.

Oh I really wish it will work !!! You have been nursing this apartment project for such a long time now ! If ever you cannot find an apt for rent at such a short notice and have to stay for some time in a hotel, I recommend the sister hotels du Pantheon (I stayed there a few years ago) and des Grands Hommes. They are on place du Pantheon, a little climb when coming from métro Cardinal Lemoine. Their normal prices are not cheap, but they have some very good last minutes fares. Closer to Cardinal Lemoine is the very popular hotel des Grandes Ecoles.

Annette I'd call Vacation in Paris and see what they have available. They are so easy to deal with. They have several apts. close to Cardinal Lemoine from $99.00 to $125,00 a night. You could pay with your credit card right over the phone. They usually send the key to your house before you leave but could arrange for theirlocal person to meet you.

If the apartments don't work out....along with Anne's hotel suggestion I might add the Hotel Minerve in the 5th...they may have last minute deals! Just think soon you won't have to researching places to stay!!! ;D All crossed here!!!
