ANnette, if you can't get an apartment, consider the Hotel Familia. It's just arounf the corner fro cardinal Lemoine metro station. Certainly not a 4 star, but the rooms were small but comfortable, the breakfast good, the staff very accomadating, the area is safe. There is another Metro , Jussieu, right up the street and 3 bus lines across the street. I'd stay there again .

Geordy!!! Thank you ;D ;D ;D We're booked at Hotel Minerve in a deluxe twin room at a special last-minute rate! The guy I talked to on the phone was very nice (hmmm...maybe my brown-eyed macaron?  LOL) ooh I have stayed at the lovely Hotel Minerve a couple of times before I found my lovely landlord Jacques! Hotel is very charming, rooms are small but very clean.. loved hanging out on the balcony facing the street.. front desk staff are very helpful, perhaps you might come across the lovely Vincent (a writer by day!) or Jamal (very lovely night manager) or Mitra or Stephanie.. the owner Eric was very very charming and dare I say it.. 'easy on the eyes'!! Be sure to go across the street and get the best Turkish kebab from my lovely boys.. Murat and his brother Tolga :-) mmmm Murat! LOL!! ok, ok, I'll stop here! good luck lovely! xx EDIT: hmmm.. note to self, must stop using the word 'lovely'! LOL |

Good for you. It's the sister hotel to the one I mentioned that is right next door, the Familia.The transportation is so great in that area. We had a dinner one evening when we were tired in a bistrot across the st, I think it was called Le Autre or something similar, not super great but good!

I'm so glad the Minerve worked out! I decided to try it after seeing Roniece's photo of her room on TA some time back and PMing! We are a helpful group!  Great location...you can walk everywhere..... I've got a good feeling about this trip for you!!  |

Den is so not a handy man either so we would have to buy something in perfect condition, which we can't afford, of course, so it's a moot point! Nope, I don't want the pricetag either, that's between a woman and her realtor! ;D Some things should stay private, like a woman's age or hair colour! Can't wait to hear some news............Jo |
