What a pity for France, at least we have Andi and Ian to be happy for (am I missing someone?) Congratulations. I wish tomorrow you´ll be on Argentina´s side, at least because there´s no South Africans on this forum.

Well, we finally lost to South Africa, how sad. On top of that, the Southafricans didn´t even look happy to win, do they have any blood in their veins? Now we have to play against France again, for the third place.

The "petite Finale", as the bronze game is called in France, will be held on Friday at 9pm here, that must be 3pm in New York .
But no one is over-excited about it really, playing this little final is quite a disappointment ...

Je suis dans les bons livres ! ;D
Our weekend was great and on Saturday night our itinerary fell from a card titled "Les Peintres de Paris"!
Unfortunately I was unable to watch the rugby, but we were kept up to date throughout the evening by the waiting staff. Commiserations Anne and our French rugby followers, also to Sandy.
Hopefully next weekend will see the fairytale continue, and that the supporters enjoy the game but respect others enjoyment of our favourite city!

Tonight is the "petite finale", so France and Argentina will fight for the bronze medal . Of course it is still a matter of pride to win that, but the pressure will not be so high so I hope that we will be able to simply enjoy a great match

Argentina finally won!! Sorry Anne, and the rest of the French supporters. At least we are on the podium. It was a tough match, but it was rightfully won by Argentina.
Let´s hope the best for our English friends on the final.

Ahhh thank you Anne Today will be a huge day for us, there are rugby parties going on everywhere ;D It has been an amazing achievement for the team to get to this final, everyone you speak to is too afraid to commit and say we will win, South Africa are a very strong side. Hubby and I tried desperately to get Eurostar tickets and a hotel room for the night just so we could sit on the Champ D'Mars and be with the crowds for the match but it was impossible Every single hotel was booked out and there were no train tickets to be had at all (even though they have laid on 9 extra trains to Paris today) we even tried travelling 2 days before and no luck! Actually so many fans have travelled out, Paris is going to be swarming today, not much fun for the non rugby fans. I do hope that they all behave, English fans can be a real pain in the posterior when sport and beer mix but this is rugby not football, so hopefully it will be a peaceful but euphoric celebration ;D

Oh dear, it was a shame that we could not hold them on the day, our team put up a desperate fight but unfortunately it was not enough and South Africa did indeed deserve the win. I am so pleased that the travelling fans saw it the same way and behaved themselves. Now we just need a small favour from Isreal in the next few weeks for the qualifiers for the football.......we need Isreal to win their match against Russia and we must win ours against Croatia or its bye bye England this time around, please have a quiet word Shoesy

Our Pumas were received today by a crowd in Buenos Aires, they had a great championship and were beaten only by the winning team.
And as a consolation prize, yesterday David Nalbandian won the Masters in Madrid, beating Nadal, Djokovich and Federer in the same week!
