Well, I gladly would Gitte, but I am afraid that Commander Truffaut may not like that at all on his respectable forum ... Look, I will send you a PM with the link ;D

Now, the teams which will play the quarts de finale are : South-Africa, England, Australia, Fidji Islands (!), New Zealand, Scotland, Argentina and France . And guess who are the poor suckers who will play the All Blacks next Saturday ? the French . And we won't even have the small advantage of playing on home turf because the match will be held in Cardiff, Wales . Poor us ...

Anne I quite agree with you, ALL matches should have been played in France and I don't fully understand the reasoning in allowing some games to be played in the UK. Are the final 8 teams the ones you expected to be there? Our English team have pulled up their socks a little but we are not out of the woods yet, good luck with your game on Saturday ;D

We had a great match yesterday, we beat Ireland and sent them home, and we also sent the poor French to play against the All Blacks.
Our turn is next Sunday agaisnt Scotland. It seems we still have a chance.

I wonder if I can find the France/New Zealand game on TV here, then again I'm working Sat. How did those other locales get in on the action?

Forgive my ignorance...but are they done playing rugby in Paris then? It sounded like France is playing in Wales next, but I'm not sure if they're coming back to Paris or not. Just trying to figure out if we will run into crowds next week in when we're there...

Thanks for the reassurance, Gitte. I'm a little disappointed with the extra decorations on the ET, since I had my heart set on capturing her in a photo in all her beauty at night...and that didn't include balloons and green spotlights!. Oh well....in the scheme of things, who cares? I'll be in Paris after all! ;D

dep The French team is not likely to play in Paris again because they will most probably loose that game. But the rest of the matches will be played in Paris untill the final. But as it seem to be the case, France won´t get to the final and there will be very few countries left, I don´t think there will be crowds of rugby fans around Paris.

OK, there is no denying that the All Blacks still ARE the best team in the world whatever tonight result, but that makes victory so sweet ...

I have been in Paris for big sporting events, and I have been in Paris for Nuit Blanche....but I have never been to Paris on a Nuit Blanche when France WINS!!!! OH MY GOSH!!! I've caught a cold, so I decided to stay in, but my apartment is pretty close to the Frog & Rosbif and about 20 other bars with crowds watching the game. I've had my windows open, and was watching the game on TV, and every time France scored, it was like the entire city erupted. I went out to get some food, and people were cheering at every great move, and then, back in my apartment watching it on TV, when we won, I swear the entire city shook. I could hear people shouting like they were sitting with me...from every bar and every street. Horns were honking, people were shouting, and even people outside my window that had no idea what was happening KNEW at that point that we won. It was all at once very exciting and at the same time very moving. I was tearing up with happiness, and I don't know the first THING about rugby. LOL. Bottom line...it was pretty frikkin' cool. And Sandy....France is coming home.......

Way to Go , France!!! I didn't think anyone could beat the AllBlack!
I'd better shut up...one of my best friends is a Scot...un vrais Scotia...and if she hears me boosting France...even though she has a house there ...it might be the end of a beautiful friendship!

Oh my gosh... I am elated!! I came home from work and watched the French news ..on here at 7:00 our time. They seemed resigned to losing!!! after my own Yankees lost the first two games to Cleveland (the last due to bugs!!!!) i was really bummed! Then I check in here and we (and I mean WE!!! won!!! Congrats to the French!!! Arrow..this is the best for your cold!!! You will be well! I arrived in Paris in '98 the day after the French qualified for the final in the World Cup Soccer/Fut ball. I was there for 3 Tenors concert/SO's B'day. Well, as you are learning now, the enthusiasm was infectious!! This NYC/small town American football girl got into the whole soccer thing big time!!! It is a fabulous time to be in Paris!! ENJOY the contagious good feeling/spirit!!!! When/who do we play next? Anne...everyone else who cares.. allez les bleus!!! Shoot..I could eat another one of those Lamb sandwiches...in sympathy for the All Blacks!! And anything..and everything..French ...in support of Les Bleus!! (And I'm eating fine now!
