Gitte, RBs can get round but most I have encountered have very "Oriental" body types (i.e., long and lean like a Siamese, with pointed triangular faces and very large ears -- you should see the pix of Sadie as a kitten, she was pretty much all ears and looked a bit like a wombat). Sadie now is much more round (in her advancing years) but mostly because she doesn't run around as much as she gets older (Sasha, on the other hand, lived to be almost 20 and ran around right up to the last few months so never gained weight, partly, I think, because she was also very athletic, e.g., loved hummingbirds because they were the only bird that just stopped in midair, and she could jump several feet pretty much straight up -- a bit disconcerting and I wished she wouldn't, but there's no way to override mother nature!).

As usual, I'm late to the party, but thought I'd introduce my furry friends, too. This is Tommy and Holly, and they are the best of friends. Tommy (the cat) weighs more than the dog! But either would be a mere mouthful for Ian's dogs or Tarzan! You all have such adorable pets!

Oh, Shoesy and Andi, I LOVE Phantom, too! I get depressed if I can't get down to see it every time it comes to LA. We were lucky enough to score seats in the front row in London a few years ago when we took the family (only seats left, and cheap compared to home!). The conductor's head was right at my knee. It's a good thing I was sitting there and not one of the kids, because I'm sure it would have been beyond their control to keep from flicking his ear right in the middle of it to see what he would have done! Very clever name for your kitty with the "mask", Andi! Perfect fit!

Annette - I've seen "Phantom" twice on Broadway, and I think I'm due for a third time this summer. I hope I can fit it into my very busy schedule. My husband hopes to see "Les Miserables" again this summer. We saw that one many years ago in Israel, and the production was truly spectacular.

O.K., Annette - Now you can tell us the truth. Those little dolls are really stuffed animals, aren't they? ;D

Oh what a nice way to start my day. A cup of tea and catching up with the forum. These pictures are just wonderful. I especially love Crawford, Andi. Doesn't the name just fit him? I am really going to try to figure out how to put a picture of my snotty little feline on here. Her feelings will be hurt if I don't She will do backover flips for yogurt, Shoesy, like yours. She especially loves my organic low-fat Caramel Yogurt. Did any of you Phantom fans see the birthday party (filmed for tv) for Andrew Lloyd Weber that featured a lot of original cast members singing songs from his most popular shows? Sarah Brightman and Antonio Banderas did the theme from Phantom and it was chilling. Very dramatic, as it's supposed to be, I guess.

I need to take a picture of our cat since we have so many cat lovers here. She's a beautiful orange tabby and her name is Jasmine. She's very picky and only eats cat food, except occasionally she likes to eat things like rubber bands, which we've had to have removed at great expense 3 (or was it 4?) times now. We like to call her our ten thousand dollar shelter cat. She's skittish and often runs away from people...but every once in a while she sits beside me when I'm at the computer and raises one regal paw, which means that she desires petting. If I'm really lucky I will get the double-pawed "wheelie" from her royal highness. It's almost like a cat ballet, Shoesy ;D

Hmmm....what is it with cats and yogurt? My Tommy loves it too, and patiently waits to lick my empty carton every morning. I can't even sneak any because he can hear the slightest "yogurt sound" and comes running, no matter how quiet I try to be! And yes Shoesy, they are real, I assure you! I'll try to snap a shot of Tommy chasing Holly to post someday.

We have pictures of quite a few of our cats, but I'll need my son to do the posting for me. I hope he has time this Friday when he comes here. Happygoin - I would have loved to see that Andrew Lloyd Webber show you were talking about, but it wasn't on T.V. here as far as I know.

It was in 1998, I think. It was wonderful. I think it was his 50th birthday or was it 60? I remember it was on PBS because I have it on videotape and there are no commercials. I pulled the little tab off the video so I can't ever tape over it. Really great. And Annette, I know what you mean about the "yogurt noises". Miss B comes running from several rooms away when she hears the top come off. I have to give her a spoonful or I couldn't eat it in peace. Oh does my snotty little feline get lovey-dovey then!

Firstly, Apologies for any late replies over the next few days from me, I am in the middle of a kitchen bomb site while it is being refitted, I am without electric, water and gas for most of the day. For the Andrew Lloyd Webber fans, we have just had a TV series here to find a Joseph for his Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, for his production in the west end, its a bit like Pop Idol but the singers are so much better. Last year he ran a competition for Maria (Sound of Music) it has been very successful. I forgot to add that both my dogs are crossbreed rescue dogs, Mischa we had at 10 weeks old (she is now 10 years) and Treacle was around 3 months (now 7) Treacle has just started having seizures. She had one 2 weeks before we went to Paris while she was out walking, I grabbed her collar to stop her running away and she bit me badly on both hands, it wasn't her fault though, she was panicking. I spent the day at A&E and everyone was feeling sorry for her. I had bandages on both hands and one arm in a sling and prayed like crazy that they would be gone before Paris........they were luckily. ;D

Don't even talk to me about being bitten!!! Our "darling" Cinnamon bit me on the hand in March, and my hand swelled up like a balloon. I went to our local clinic, where the nurse took a look at it and said I'd survive and that I didn't need a tetanus shot since I had had one two years before. The reason I had been vaccinated in 2004 was that my other "darling" cat, Muffy, had bitten me then. Grrrrrrrrrr

Oh Andi, my deepest sympathies re: doing without water, electricity etc. while your kitchen is being redone! I have a pretty good idea what you're going thru--we just remodeled our kitchen also. Totally ripped out the whole thing, moved walls and basically started from scratch (sad really, since the house is only a few years old!). "Bomb" IS a good word to describe it! Now we're adding on another bay to the garage, so the electricity, gas and water is still getting turned off during the day without notice! It really messes up your computer time, doesn't it?!

All too true I am afraid!!!! lol Luckily there are no walls being removed but if there were, I don't think it would make any more mess than now.

andi my deepest condonlences on you having to suffer through kitchen reno hell, I have done it ,, and it is horrid. Only sheer will power allowed our marriage to survive it,, we are both so stubborn!
Update,,, Joan has decided( how weird, I now discuss myself third person, LOL ) to upgrade to a room with TWO beds,, contacted hotel yesterday and recievced confirmation. Actually had to cancel old booking and rebook as going through email was not getting me a response, and it had been my 5th unanswered email,,, found another email address for them and finally got it straightened out!! We will also have a view of the Rue Dauphine,, and I request a higher room. I did this all in FREMNCH too,,, lol, they of course reply in english,, but, hey, they understood me! (They must laugh, I am sure I sounded like a retarded monkey, grunting out phrases crudely, LOL )

Hi, Joan -- your arrangements are sounding great!
Your comment about trying to communicate in French reminds me of the time I was writing to a place in Paris to buy something on line that I had seen while I was there. I wanted to know if I could transmit credit card information without worrying about safety of data, and asked (translated by Google, of course) whether they had a secure server. When I got their response (who knows how mine read from their perspective, of course), Google informed me that they did not have "a trustworthy waiter" and I therefore would have to fax the information to them (which I did)! I still chuckle about that one -- nothing worse than an untrustworthy Parisian waiter! ;D
