Welcome to the forum simplyliv! Two months in Paris - how wonderful.
I spent a month in 2009 - hard to believe that was close to 3 years ago.
You mentioned you're looking for something in the inner arrondissements. You might have more luck if you look in the outer arrondissements. If you have easy access to 2 metro lines, you can get almost anywhere within Paris in 15-20 minutes. I stayed in the 17th in the Batignolles area and really enjoyed being away from tourist central. I liked being near a market street - rue des Levis. There are others - like rue Daguerre in the 14th.
I stayed in an apartment from perfectlyparis.com. Gail runs the business and is wonderful. She might be able to help, although most of her apartments are in the 18th.
Also consider splitting your time - one month in one apartment, one month somewhere else.
Denise who is a regular on the forum has stayed at apartments with centreparis.com. They might have something.
Hope this helps!
Janet
PS You're smart to get away from that summer heat in Phoenix. I was there once in November and it was over 100 degrees, or close to 40 Celsius.

Hi Olivia! Two months in Paris...sigh!! Have you tried VRBO, HomeAway and/or Homelidays? They have some more affordable options. I see that you list Baltimore as one of your homes...welcome to the forum hon! ;D

What a nice warm welcome. Thanks!
SisterEurope, thanks for the official Bawlmer welcome!
I think the possibility of splitting my stays may come into play. I also think I have to expand my horizons and venture into the outer arrondisements. I'll spend some time researching them and figuring out which would be best.
Janet, I'm going to head over now and check out PerfectlyParis. I think I did look at that site once, but ruled it out because it's mostly the 18th. Silly me. To be honest, at this point I think I've looked at every available apartment in Paris. Honestly, I'm not a spoiled or picky, but it seems that there's a deal breaker issue with each one. Of course, the ones that aren't deal breakers haven't responded to my emails.
Every time I lose hope, it only lasts for an hour or two and I realize I HAVE to make this happen!!
Thanks for the kind word and encouragement.

I would reiterate contacting Gail to see what she has available. We have stayed at one of hers in the 9th and love the location. She has a large number of apartments most in the 18th but some in the 17th and 9th. In addition she knows a large number of people and may be able to be of assistance. The other agency, that seems highly reputable is Paris Best Lodge , www.parisbestlodge.com and they have a fair number of studios that might come within your price range. Good luck. If you can't find one available for the whole two months, you might do a month on each bank.

Hello everybody! I was looking for a place to talk about the most beautiful city I've ever visited, which is, of course, Paris. So here I am, hoping to meet new people who enjoy this city and French culture as much as I do. My name is Nicole and I am from Austria. I was born and bred in Vienna. I love films, music, literature, history and arts. Actually everything artistic is just my thing, I guess. Well, if you want to know more details, just feel free to ask!

Hi all, What a great site, purely stumbled upon when I googled "Chateau Rouge Metro Station" and saw/read Kerouac's posting about that area. Wow! This is fantastic, fun, obviously a great resource. I'm a 50 year old nurse practitioner whose most favorite activity is planning fake trips to Paris. Sometimes I even call in sick and just sit in bed surrounded by travel guides, maps and magazines, plotting out the latest "best ever" trip to Paris. My husband is quite indulgent about this, even brings me home France Magazine or a new travel guide on said "sick days". I've been to France 6 times, lived there once for about 4 mos (failed at being a nanny, came back home) and went to school in Le Mans for a semester, so pretty familiar. And it never, ever, ever gets old. I'm headed back again in February, 2013, by moi-meme! Yippee Think I might rent an apartment, and just soak it up. But of course, there is much planning yet to be done, so who knows!?

Hi folks! My name is Keith and I was fortunate to be introduced to this wonderful forum. Just 4 weeks ago my wife and I made our first ever visit to not only Paris but Europe as well. What can I say, I'm hooked. We certainly saw "the sites" but we made a great effort to also experience the culture. Now I just can't wait to get back. Since returning I haven't been able to stop talking and writing about it. I've started a blog page which I update each week dedicated to my impressions of the city we all love. Here's the link: paristhroughneweyes.wordpress.com/I can't wait to read more and share more here with fellow lovers of the City of Light!!!

Welcome Keith! I'm monopolizing you tonight, lol.
Lots of sharing of this site, the regulars are very generous with their experiences, suggestions and recommendations. Finally, we just kind of look out for one another. Maybe of us have met, both in Paris and at GTGs in the US.
Stick around, I think you'll like us.
Now I'm not talking to you for the rest of the night, lol
