Hi, I'm glad I found this site. For the past twenty years I have been a passionate traveler to France and I just can't seem to get enough of Paris. My son who is 10 years old has been to Paris 12 times and he knows the city like the back of his hand.
For me, there is no greater thrill than to discover secret Paris discoveries and share it with others. I've been lucky enough to build my own website where I cover all my favorite Paris things.
I look forward to participating in the forums.
Merci bien, Diane

Hello Everyone! My husband and I spent 2 wonderful weeks in Paris in October and we're hooked! We have never vacationed in the same city two years in a row, but we're planning next year's trip back to Paris, as we can't imagine going anywhere else because there is so much we haven't seen! I have already learned so much from this Forum! So happy I found you guys!

I received great news this afternoon. I didn't mention it earlier because I was afraid I might 'jinx' our plans. I received an email from Guest Apartment Services this afternoon confirming our reservation next September for three weeks staying at ALLYSUM!! My husband Bill wanted to stay on Ile St. Louis again but I wanted a change of scenery. I fell in love with the pictures of Allysum and started to do some research on the area to convince him. That research led me here to the forum. Seeing the photos of Annette's trip with her two cute kids clinched it for me. The apartment is lovely and I can't wait! I'm ready to pack now! Once I decided on the apartment I was so afraid it wouldn't be available and checked my email every hour waiting to hear back from Philippe at GSA. My husband is definitely on board now and we spent hours today with Google Earth checking out the area and distance to Picards, etc.

Debora--I'm so glad you found us and am so excited you'll be staying in our apartment!!! It's really fun for me to hear from the guests that have/will be staying there. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me in a PM here on the forum--I don't mind at all. Tell me what you're interested in, and I can give you some tips for the neighborhood! And let me know your dates...we were going to block out some time the end of September or beginning of October, so I'd better get moving on it before all the time is blocked out! hehe

Congratlations, you have chosen a beautiful apt and I know you;ll enjoy it and the area. 2 or 3 if you don't count Darryl's opinion, Au Bon Coin, le Buisson ardent, and Bistro de Gastronomes. Have a wonderful time!
Pompiers nearby too as an added attraction!!!

Bonjour tout le monde,
I am Olivia or SimplyLiv as my screen name says. I'm happy to find this board via the referral of a helpful friend on TA (hi, Patricia!)
I'm planning my first solo trip to Paris (2nd total) this June in honor of the big five-oh, my 50th birthday. I'm hoping to stay for two months, but at this point, I'm in need of some good Parisian karma!
I had my apartment and flight booked and I confidently thought all I need to do was count the days, pack, and get on the plane. Nope! Paris is playing hard to get and my long researched and lovingly hand-picked apartment has fallen through. Horror!! So now I'm back on the hunt again.
My hope is to find an apartment in one of the inner arrondissements within my budget of €2000/mo for mid-June to mid-August. I'm still hopeful, but I'm starting to pull my hair out.
Other than that, I'm a full-time writer working on my first novel. I live in suburban hell outside of Phoenix, but I'm originally from the east coast ... NYC, Boca Raton, Baltimore. I live with my SO who isn't as crazy about Paris as I am, but he's still a good guy and is wonderfully supportive of the idea of travelling alone (whew!)
I look forward to getting to know and read you all!

Hi Olivia! Welcome to the forum. It is getting a little late to book a 2 month stay starting in June, but I' sure there's still some available. It might be wise to contact VIP to ask if they have anything that fits your desires. What specifics are you looking for in an apartment? Studio/one bedroom? How many flights of stairs are you willing to climb? Tub or shower?

Hi Annette, I don't know if it's proper to respond to your message in this forum, but here goes (I'm still learning my way around)
My fingers are crossed that it's not too late, but each day that ticks by kills my dream a little more!!
I talked with VIP early on before I booked my first place, and they didn't have anything that was the perfect fit. Now that I'm getting desperate, it's worth it to contact them again. Thanks for the idea.
I'm traveling solo, so a studio or 1-bedroom is fine. Don't need a tub, and I'm willing to climb 3 US flights. I would like a washer/dryer, but it's not a necessity. I'm going to be working on my writing while I'm there, so a desk or table/chairs would be helpful. I prefer to bed to a pull out sofa, but again ... I feel like I can't be picky. Some requirements are lots of good light, safe location, reasonably quiet at night. I'd also like to find a place that accept credit cards.
You think it would help if I rubbed a gargoyle or something???
