Please bring us up to date on your London move. Are you packed, do you have a place to live, are you meeting up with chicchantal anytime soon!!I'm so excited for you. When my DH worked for Citibank I was always hoping to move to someplace interesting, but all I ever got was Dallas and Detroit!

Thanks for asking - I am never sure if people are just being polite when I start talking about my trip as I have bored most of the people I know in NZ
Well I have 18 days left in NZ - and only 8 days left of work for BOC NZ . ( that was writen with a slight tremble in the voice )
I have packed ( nearly) - there is a small matter of a fridge, washing machine, dryer etc to get rid of yet but they will be palmed out to nearest and dearest . I have goodbye work drinks this Friday night, lunch with my closest work friends on the 15th - a long boozy one too !, dinner with my closet friends on the 16th, Afternoon tea at the 5 star hotel on the 17th with Mum, my best friends and her sister, a week of cleaning and removal companies up to the 21st of August and then a day shopping and lunching with Mum on the 22nd August.
On the 23rd of August we have open day at Mum and Dads as I will be there by then where all my firends and family can come and spend some time , have a few laughs and then I fly out that night > ( my stomach just flipped when I wrote that )
I land in London on the 25th August ( after a stopover exploring Shanghai ) , I am being picked up by a friend and taken to pick up my rental car. I will go back to her place in North London , then I meet the agency the next day that I have employed to find me a flat. They will take me to four flats that we have out on the final list, I will choose one and then fingers crossed be able to move in the following weekend. I start work on the 1 September, have a weekend in Paris on the 13 and 14 September, the weekend after I am back from that I have my cousins birthday in St Ives to go to. October I am touring the UK and Ireland with work. November I am meeting up with friends in Cardiff, edinburgh and Dublin on sep weekends as we are following the All Blacks ( NZ rugby team ) and watch them hopefully win the Grand Slam. Somewhere in there there may be time for an OPF London get together with Mez and CC!
21 December I am off to Paris again ( with a side trip to Morrocco ) until Jan 21 2009 and my parents are over at the same time so I will be spending time with them as wel
Stay tuned as this adventure starts to unfold in 18 days and counting ..............

OMG!!! How many times do we have to say it? Of course we are interested...;D
Your plans sound very exciting (and very nerve-wracking at the same time). It looks like you have everything in order.
Wow - you are definitely on the final countdown!
I wanted to ask, how are you getting your things to the UK? Did the airline grant you extra luggage amounts? Are you going over with your 20kgs and overstufed hand luggage? Or did you ship things over?

I am sending the big stuff with a removal company - seafreight and I was going to send a suitcase airfreight as well as take my suitcasebut found out today that as I am a Gold Frequent Flyer I can take 40kgs with me. Becasue I am getting a car at Heathrow I will take two suitcases with me and not worry too much about having to lug them. Work has given me 2000 pounds for my stuff so I am sending as much as I can so I don't have to land and buy a whole lot of stuff !!

Of all the adventures that have been talked about on this forum, I think yours is probably the most excitng.......definitely the most daring. I can't imagine what's going on in that pretty little head of yours right now, but I'm so happy for you. I'm sure you will not regret your decision to go ahead with this for it will obviously be an experience of a lifetime. Good luck and lots of hugs and kisses from me. ;D

Megan, you have a life most people only dream about. I am so happy that you took the leap. It is courageous, yes, but you can't not jump and take it! You have a lot to tell us on that September weekend. Roniece and I are getting together to go to Bistrot Melac together on the 13th - we'll probably be doing much the same things that weekend. I don't know yet if she and her friend will be up to going to Notre Dame on Sunday. I always try to attend the Gregorian mass at 10:00 am.
Looking so forward to meeting you next month........... Bisous.........

I'm sure once she is settled, she will tell all, meanwhile she needs to adjust, breathe in her move and will get back to us
