CC and Suzanne - I agree with both of you, I wear YSL's "Paris" and also Hermes' "Kelly Caleche." (Also D&G's "Feminine") Occasionally I've been known to wear "Opium" and "Flower by Kenzo" but both of those really instensify after I put them on so I have to use a very light hand.

I am not adventurous with perfume at all. I've been wearing Knowing by Estee Lauder for nearly 20 years!! I get regular compliments from people I know and strangers, so I am hesitant to change.

I don't think it's a matter of being "adventurous" . If you really like something, why bother trying something else? (sort of like a spouse ;D)

(sort of like a spouse ;D) Too funny Shoesy...I currently think about my perfume as something I put on every day and don't give much thought to - it's just habit. Should I consider any future spouse in the same way? ;D

I think that our 'daily' perfume becomes a part of us -- just like our hair and any 'signature' jewelry pieces we wear. Having said that, I've changed my 'signature' perfume from time to time as I found my life was changing...I used to wear Bob Mackie's fragrance for years (when I was single) - now I wear just a simple oil of lavender.
I had a friend tell me one time that he never gave much thought to my perfume, but that when he was at a party, a woman there was wearing Mackie, and he was amazed at how it triggered memories of me. (Sweet thought, but before anyone gets any ideas, this was a married friend -- and a strictly platonic relationship, but it DOES make one think!)
I now wear the lavender because it reminds me of France (like I need reminding now!) -- but because it's still somewhat unusual, and hubby's not allergic to it.

" I think that our 'daily' perfume becomes a part of us -- just like our hair and any 'signature' jewelry pieces we wear." I totally agree sunshine. I wear DKNY woman and when I have tried other perfumes I don't feel like myself. I can't actively smell it on me but when it is not there I don't feel right. My son bought some for his wife, not realising it was my perfume. He just liked it. She was not best pleased! not that she disliked the perfume she just didn't want to remind him of his mother.! Demarias - lovely wedding picture! Happygoin - I know exactly what you mean about some fragrances not smelling well on some people. My daughter smells exquisite with a lemon verbena from bath and body works, people are always thinking she is wearing some expensive scent. I, on the other hand, smell like some health drink was spilled on me about a week ago if I try it. I had to chuckle about the "back in the day" talk. When I was in kindergarten, my aunt was in high school French. She oft enumerated the charms of Paris to me, and used to get so mad when I would use her "Evening in Paris" perfume. I'm sure it had nothing to do with me using enough for 12 people I trace my fixation on Paris back to that time. My first "real" perfume (verses those little kiddie things with the waxy perfume) was Love's "Baby Soft". It was the "in" thing and we all carried it around in our purses, re-applying frequently. The guys all wore "Stetson" or Jovan "Musk" and usually smelled like they showered in it. I'm sure it was simply horrid for the poor teachers trapped in class with us. I'm looking forward to visiting a couple of shops in Paris and selecting something wonderful to remind me of my time there. Til then, I'll stick with my Estee Lauder "Beyond Paradise". Before it came out, I never much liked anything by Estee Lauder. Only discovered it when I forgot whatever I was wearing at the time on a girlie weekend at a friend's in Houston. She told me help myself to everything she had on her makeup table. She was so happy the "Beyond Paradise" smelled good on me as she'd received it as a gift and it just didn't smell good on her, so she gave me my first bottle.
