Becky, that's funny that you like YSL Paris...I tried it years ago and it smelled like rotten lettuce on me. I'm serious. I gave it to my incredibly lucky girlfriend. SHE smelled great in it. Opium was another one that I wore a lot years ago, and more recently, Tresor.

Skip the Musee du Vin...BORING! Well, the glass of wine at the end is okay and the vault itself is interesting but the displays leave a bit to be desired. Unless you are in the area and don't have anything better to do ..or if it's raining!

I went to the Musee du Vin back in 1993. I had a coupon book from Jet Vacations and it was free or half price or something. I would not make a special trip either but it was okay...and I had not been in that area before as I recall it is at the end of a cute little residential street. (It was only my second trip!) And this was the trip I spent a few days in Champagne so it was a very winey trip!

I visited the Fragonard museum a few trips ago, and it was okay but not one of the things I'd tell everyone to rush out and do. If you don't read French, they loan you a laminated card with display descriptions in English (a few other languages also). It's a nice display (a little on the spare side tho) but I didn't learn much I didn't already know about perfume. My favorite part was coming out into the showroom at the end where you could purchase all the Fragonard goodies. But my excitement was quickly squelched by the snobby salesladies With a little assistance, I would have dropped a small bundle in their shop, but they were very aloof and unapproachable (so I ordered online!). The only place in Paris I've had that experience.

Shoesy...on him it smells good. But I like spicy smells. re: Musee du Vin. I also visited a few years ago cause I had a 1/2 coupon. The concept of how it was built and the fact the cobbles from it covered much of Paris' streets and that some king liked to stop at the cellars-when they grew wine grapes there- and have a glass of red after he hunted in the Bois de Boulogne was all of interest but sadly the actual museum deosn't convey much of it history and Musee des Arts Forains, it's not.

Betsy - if you like somewhat spicy fragrances for men, next time you're in a department store check out "Pour Homme" by Dolce & Gabana - I got it for my husband, and a surprising number of people have stopped him and asked what it is.

Becky - And you allow all these people to flirt with your dear hubby?

Shoesy, considering who was asking in some cases, I'd say if they want to try that's their issue, not mine . . . . ;D

Demarais you looked so chic on your wedding day. You could wear that today and not looked dated like many other dresses would > just lovely! You do not have to go to the museum at Fragonard - I just walk into the shop and I have to say the ladies were never snobby to me and one time they helped me choose fragrances for gifts as I had a shocking flu and lost my sense of smell - this is what Hell must be like for a perfumer lover like me! LOL

How dead-serious you look ! This guy is NOT going to escape ! I also bet that you wore white, pointed JCFM shoes with your weddingdress in 1961 ! One question, though: why's the wedding cake on top of your hairdo ? ;D
