Has anyone visited this shop? It's located at 13 rue de St-Paul 4e. Don't remember where I got the review of it from. It remains on my must visit list. The woman that created the store is Maria Pia Varnier, a native Parisian. SHe originally specialized in kitchenware but her stock varies. She wraps purchases in vintage christmas paper. Just curious.

Never heard of it but I like the vintage christmas wrapping paper! Very excentric.

Happy - Have you added days to your trip? With a list like yours you're going to have to be in Paris for quite a long time.

That's what I keep telling SE. I did try to add days on to the trip. But the penalty would have been $500+. And since I only paid $570 for airfare, I couldn't really justify it. That's why I've decided to give up sleeping for the duration of the trip. I should be able to fit everything in that way. But honestly, this little shop is a definite. I'll give up something else to go here. It is EXACTLY the sort of place I love...and the blog mentioned by Gitte is terrific (I've bookmarked it). Thanks greyghost!

I've been there. There are a few antiques shops along the street and in the courtyards (nothing fabulous, but a few that are somewhat interesting). Her shop is attractive and interesting. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but if you're in the area--perhaps for lunch at Le Rouge-Gorge....

Happy & Sis, I was planning to buy the place out, but since you'll be there shortly after me, I'll leave you a few things!

There are several places I want to check out in this area, so maybe after lunch at L'as we'll skip over there. I'll fill you in! I was thinking those coffee bowls would be perfect for holding coarse salt next to the stove.

Annette...I really look forward to your opinion on this place. From the pictures, it looks like a place I'd love to visit. When are you going to Paris?

There is another shop I like that sells similar things. I cannot recall the name. It is located in the Passage Jouffroy. There is also another favorite of mine in this passage. It is called Valentins. A wonderful little place for tea or lunch. Fabulous homemade pastries, candies and jams. My family particulary liked the Christmas Jam. Owned by a very nice couple. They do not speak English so brush up.

Funny...that's one of the passages on my list that I haven't got to yet. I'll have to add that to my ever-growing Must-Do's. I hope those great cafe cremes have loads of caffeine in them...I'm going to need it

Although, Viviene is more beautiful, Jeoffroy has (imo) more character. Another thing to love about Paris. The passages.
