;D I just purchased 2 of these for the twinnies. They are supposed to be excellent teething toys. They were NOT cheap , but the twinnies are worth any price , and besides, the fact that these giraffes were born in Paris justifies the cost, right? www.sophiegiraffeusa.com/story.html

I love it! During my teenage years, I amassed a large collection of giraffes and to this day, they remain a favourite animal of mine.

I like it too! Cute little giraffe - hope I can find one in Paris - we have a new great-grandchild on the way and this will be perfect to put in a gift basket for the baby shower!

Brace yourselves......... I paid about $38 for each giraffe. As you can see, things are more expensive in Israel.

Sophie is adorable (and apparently very fun and functional for a bébé)! I know my niece has one for her wee baby. I thought it adorable and vaguely familiar if not just cutely retro looking! (but did not know what it was called until now!) I love giraffes ....has meaning for my son ( his first cuddle toy with which he very much bonded ) and a special painting in my daughter's room. Of course, one can also reflect about the giraffe (Zarafa) that was presented to King Charles X of France by Muhammed Ali of Egypt setting off quite the giraffe craze/fads!

She could become my new baby gift! Less expensive than a Tiffany's Silver feeding spoon!! ;D

Alright Shoesy and Geordy, I'm holding you two responsible for my weird dream last night--a frantic search throughout Paris trying to find Sophie so I could bring home a stash of them for baby gifts. My whole trip was consumed with finding Sophie and I didn't get to do anything else! LOL

Annette...why me? ? I just thought it was cute..don't know a thing about babies!! ;D These dreams may be contagious...I had a weird one the night before last....got to hotel in Paris..fell asleep, realized hotel was more like dormitory ..glad I fell asleep and didn't unpack...but I did ..hurriedly tried to repack to not be charged for the night and find another hotel before S/O got there!!! Then my Father(who died in 1970) showed up...with a car!!!! I was also upset that I didn't have any of my computer print outs with me!!

Saw the title "Sophie la Girafe" and couldn't resist contributing this photograph, which we recently used on our blog. I love the way the giraffe is looking alertly out the window! Attachments:

Cute shot, Parisianfields! I happened to come across Sophie on the Au Nain Bleu website while looking for something else the other day (21€). Sunshine, do you happen to know where can you get her for 11€? Shoesy, you really bit the bullet! LOL Geordy, I think we all might dream about Paris! We should take a poll...

What a wonderful photograph of Sophie, Parisianfields ! You can see that she isn't just an ordinary toy giraffe, right?

Annette, such a classic can be found in any toy shop, and also in shops specialized in equipment for babies. I have no idea about the price though.

Thanks Anne! I'm going to keep a lookout when I'm there, but I promise I won't be as obsessed as I was in that dream!

ebay, ladies, ebay tinyurl.com/3lqnt93if this link does not work then try www.ebay.com (this is US site, did not try other countries) type sophie giraffe (brings back best results) click search then Buy It Now tab there are other Sophie items besides teething . best price on Buy It Now (tab) was $18. I'm getting Pink Pie for my new great-great niece Aubrielle. (if born after midnight will be on her great-grandmother's birthday, at 6 pm mother in labor but no update since.)
