You can also buy Sophie on amazon.com. They even sell 2 of them together.....for less than what I paid for each one.

I'm glad to know I can buy them easily here in the US but I would like to find one in Paris to bring back for our new great-grandchild who is due to arrive around May 22nd.

Oh, how cute! They have definitely grown up. I especially like Linor's Babushka Doll top - that ribbon on the doll's hair is a nice touch.

They are absolutely darling babies. Linor has the most gorgeous eyes and it looks as if her hair curls. And Yuval looks as if he is full of mischief.

There was a quick topic about this birthday on France Inter this morning. They mentionned that Sophie is made of pure hevea sap and part of it is handpainted (in France, not China for a change).

We have a new great-grandchild due any day now - if it's a little girl, I'm definitely going to get her a Sophie La Giraffe

Who's "Sindy" Maybe a Brit thing? Anyone remember Tammy? She was Ideal's answer to Barbie....supposed to be younger and a bit less sophiticated... Her little sis was Pepper to Barbie's Skipper! I had a red buuble cut Barbie, black flip Midge, Blond Ken(with fuzzt hair as opposed to the plastic..some of which rubbed off...similar to Prince William ). and Tammy and Pepper. They (and all their outfits and accessories)are now be enjoyed by the third generation...my great nieces! ;D

You're right , Geordy. Sindy was the British Barbie.

We are talking Barbies? First Barbie must have been that traditional bubble (brunette) hair Barbie but I also had Midge, a brunette Francie, a Skooter and most cool of all...a Twiggy! (albeit after my time with her, apparently nieces ran amuck with her hair) (wanted a Casey but did not get). My daughters "benefitted" from my Barbie enthusiasm ( then Bratz started to reign a bit before the lawsuits!). I do recall the Tammy as well...let's just say, I loved dolls in my day. ha!

We are in Vancouver at the moment. Yesterday on the Ferry to Victoria I glanced at a baby and she happened to have a Sophie. Her mom said it was her favorite toy. She said they got it a Toy's are Us.
