I just got an email about a new listing in Paris, and I swear I've seen this apartment on the rental market--maybe it's one someone here has rented? I remember some conversation a few weeks ago about a favorite rental of someones being sold. This probably isn't it, but I thought I'd post it anyway... www.pap.fr/annonces/appartement-paris-4e-r184309068?a=6322203

I think the other apartment was one that Gitte had stayed in and it may be in the 12th. It was not this one.

I can't figure out where the bathroom is. Is there two toilets?

Can someone PLEASE tell me if that's Bruce Willis' face on the wall?? It's driving me crazy! Why would they do that? Who loves Bruce Willis that much? ? Doesn't anyone else want to know the answer to this question? ??

This is not entirely on topic for this thread, but I didn't want to start a new one In today's "Parler Paris" email, Ms. Leeds mentions her need for a home in Normandy in which to shoot another episode of "House Hunters International". "We're doing another House Hunters International 9HGTV) show and need your help!
We are seeking a large multi-bedroom charming country home in Normandy valued at approximately 300,000€ that can be one of the subjects of an upcoming international TV show. We are filming this coming Sunday and Monday (March 13th and 14th) and need permission to spend about one-half day in the home with a film crew.
If you know of anyone who might be willing to allow us into their Normandy home for this special occasion, please contact me immediately." This confirms my suspicion that all the homes we see on that show aren't currently on the market for sale! I had wondered about this when I saw a rental apartment in Paris for sale on the show several years back that I knew darn good and well hadn't switched owners: www.timeandplace.com/locations/paris/montorgueil/index.php

Thanks guys...you just burst my bubble. I was naively assuming all those houses were for sale, and living vicariously through these people looking to buy them. What a schmuck I am...

Sorry about that Happy! I think most of them are for sale, but when they run into a problem and can't come up with 3 good options for the show, they evidently have to film something! I can delete this and we can pretend this never happened!

That's a good idea, Annette. Now I'll try to UN-know it

I know from firsthand knowledge that the properties on that show are often not, in fact, for sale. I've personally stayed in an apartment that was "for sale" and been a guest in another--both of which still belong to the original owners some 6 years later.

I agree with everyone that this is often the case on HHI, though I also know for a fact that sometimes the properties are in fact for sale...I bought one that was advertised back in 2008, though it looks nothing like it did on the show!

The Paris episode was on last night. Adrian Leeds showed the three apartments. I *might* have enjoyed the show, except that I kept thinking, "Hmff, I wonder if this is REALLY for sale"...

This was also discussed on the La Mom blog. I love HHI just the same - it is a nice fantasy and I get a kick out of the episodes that take place here in Canada because I don't think of us as being International

Annette, I rarely watch the show. I've watched the guide periodically only because I knew they'd done a show in Paris and thought it would be fun to see it. Funny that I finally get to see it just at the time this thread pops up And, Belladonna, Canada is plenty international! Btw, though poisonous, I love your name

Thanks Happy - my dear friend in Germany says the same thing about Canada. You know how it is, home is known and comfy and we take it for granted most of the time ;D BTW my husband goes to Boston for business and LOVES the place.
