Ha ! What if they dine at Jules Verne on Sunday! (how long are they staying?). I had book reservations there for my daughter's sixteenth..but then the price tag was 200 a head (so to speak! ). and for us that would be X 4...so voila...way too expensive for my pocketbook so I cancelled...but what fun that would have been had the Obamas dined there that night as well! Update: I see Obama is returning on Sunday (whilst Michelle and girls stay! Smart females, they)..so likely their special meal may be either tonight or tomorrow evening! Fun to know that Michelle and girls are staying longer in Paris but I don't know how long!

I wonder if anyone knows this: Will they dine in the company of regular people who had a previous reservation? Or put them in a private room? Or cancel previous resrvations ( )? The Right Wing conservatives rarely look at their own failings but never fail to point out everyone else's. But I'm sure they'd say the same thing about the Left Wingers. The two-party system isn't the best, but it's all we've got... Like Jody, I hadn't thought about it, but you bring up a good point Phread, about the non-denominational aspect of the ND service.

The more I think about it the more I would be suprise if they dine dans la Tour. And surely if they do they would dine with the rest of the regular convives. I would vote for a private diner on a fancy péniche, the longer they keep it secret the safest it will be....

"As long as they're not getting in the way of important events" What's up with THAT?? I think that's a horrible thing to say! Anyway, what a great story that would be to come home with...I dined with the Obamas in Paris

I bet the kids would prefer ice-cream to a fancy-schmancy meal. Hmmm......I wonder if there's any place that sells good ice-cream in Paris. ;D

Just read where Michelle and the girls paid a surprise visit to the Eiffel Tower last night. Bet they didn't have to wait in line!

I do rather enjoy the auto-censor. If you type in "kiss my a**", it shows up as "I disagree" ;D

Holger, that is what I read too. I thought since we would be out of town yesterday (our day to rent a car and drive to Fontainebleu and Vaux le Vicomte) that we'd miss all the excitement, but no. We were detained for half an hour in the OrlyVal station while Obama landed at Orly Ouest. As we approached the departure stop, we saw a motorcade of black cars. And then when we'd gotten our rental car and were hitting the open road....there before us sat Air Force One! Have there been any other sightings ? Cybee, have you seen anything?

Another Obama sighting: On our walk to church this morning, Obama and his motorcade drove right past us as they were leaving the Pompidou just after 11. We saw the back of his and Michelle's heads in the limo as they waved to the cheering crowd. We figured out that anyone in Paris can find the Prez by following the hovering helicopters.

;D Annette - Have you considered the thought that maybe the Obamas said: " Yay.....we've just spotted some OPF members! "

Annette, we always seem to be where Obama and family visit shortly (either hours or a day) before they arrive. Thus alas...no over lap nor Obama sightings! (walked by "the" resto hours before he dined there...Pompidou the day before....Notre Dame...same. ) But here is an interesting quote Barack made ( I think on Saturday): "I would love nothing more than to have a leisurely week in Paris, stroll down the Seine, take my wife out to a nice meal, have a picnic in Luxembourg Gardens. Those days are over, for the moment." (speaking of which, we had Amorino cones at Luxembourg today....ymmm) (Shoesy, we had Berthillon yesterday!!). Annette...you had some excellent sightings! Fun!
