Hi everyone Just to inform you that you may not see as much of me in the forum as you have become used to of late. Now's the time to start clapping....... Revising the way I spend my time, I have suddenly realized that my "cyberlife" was gradually beginning to take over too much control, to an extent where other meaningful activities "in real life" lost importance, e.g. - practicing on my piano - spending time with my son - going for a walk - taking out my bicycle for a trip - getting housework done - actually talking with my husband ! - reading good books - taking up painting again - doing photography - considering inviting guests This does not mean that I will not check in from time to time to see if you still play nice and behave yourselves, but I will not do so much posting and chatting. Just want you to know that whenever I am off-line, you shouldn't worry: it only means I am catching up with my real life. Kind regards GitteK p.s. This is me, in real life

Your desire to change your priorities is perfectly legitimate . However, I cannot forget that it is an unfair and arbitrary incident that led you to this decision . Such a shame .
I will miss your generosity, kindness and wittyness very much .

You will be sorely missed for your wisdom, knowledge of Paris and wry Danish humor. So while you cut back, please do try to keep in touch at least weekly. Will PM you for information on walks, etc. and possibly connecting in 2009. Love the picture. Your face shows your warmth and vitality.

Gitte, I'm truly sorry that you feel this way. While I can understand a desire to attend more to other facets of life than cyberfriends, I will miss your wit, generosity and lively spirit. We hope to hear from you often.

Wait, you can't leave us - you're "the mother ship" (how true the new avatar is!) and we need to know what you think about everything! Don't go too far, or for too long!

Gitte, your priorities are quite right and should be attended to. Once you have attended to them though, please do check in. I will miss reading your insightful comments and being on the receiving end of your very wonderful and useful research on a regular basis. Thank you so much for posting a photo. It's nice to see what you look like. We will be here, when you have time for us- just remember while you are doing your housework, that you could be interacting with us!

Gitte, I'd like to add that I've been very grateful for your willingness to share your extensive knowledge of Paris. Although I don't post often, I'm a regular reader here, and your wit and spunk add a lot of fun and positive vibes to the mix.
I see that taking up painting again is on your list. When you get to that, I hope you'll post some photos of your work for us to see! Please know that you'll be missed here while you're doing those other important things.

Gitte,
I'm also sorry to hear that you won't be "online" as much - I haven't posted much either but I have become a regular reader and have benefited greatly from reading your posts filled with so much Paris information. You will be missed!

Gitte on almost every forum some poster gets a post deleted, a post misunderstood, in the big picture these are little things, and if that's the worst that happened to you-you are one lucky woman. So-stay and don't let your admirers here be bereft of your time and knowledge.

Gitte, I'm 100% in agreement with Cigalechanta on this one. Put on your thick skin and keep on going. Most of us have been there done that. Or, if you'd like. I can loan you some of my sweaters.

Chere Gitte,
I thought you were on a little trip. I do miss you and all the goodies you post, your sense of humour, the resources that I am too lazy to search myself. In fact whenever I think of something I wanted to research, you always come up with it even before I can move my sorry popo .......
Please, please, please, don't stay away too long - have your husband do the housework (ha, ha, ha!). Continue your real life but give us a little bit of your time.........

I like framboise's approach! ;D If you stay away too long, Gitte, just think of the huge pile of questions that will be waiting for you! Why not make it easy on yourself and check in regularly? You understand that I'm thinking only of you and what would be easier for you, right?

Hey all you daft ninny-hammers !! Thanks for the sweet words, but let me put this totally straight: The reports of my death are highly exaggerated......... ;D
Maybe we should all shut off our computers more and do some "real life" stuff ?
I have plans to make Saturday my forum day. Somebody has to correct your erroneous ways and false perceptions - but once a week must be enough.

<<Maybe we should all shut off our computers more and do some "real life" stuff ? >>
The friendships that I have made and cultivated through this site and the London version of this site are very real. In fact, when my husband left me, people from this site called around and had one another checking in on me. While other "friends" could not face the discomfort, they were there for me. Or how about how we have all rallied around SusanB and "her kids" coming to Paris and Andie and her newest business endeavour? Life does not get more real than this.
