We arrived home yesterday and had a great trip. Still a bit tired, and are hosting a bbq this afternoon, so can't start really posting til tomorrow. But wanted to say thanks for all the tips, and I promise to start a trip report tomorrow.

I can't believe you're back already! Really looking forward to hearing about your trip. Why on earth are you hosting a BBQ when you're supposed to be resting?

Mtngrl, So, At the BBQ did it seem odd that everyone spoke English?

And did you find yourself starting to say "oui" instead of "yes"?

mtngrl, the jet lag really kicks in sometime later today. The second day is a killer, tomorrow'll be a big bust. But we can't wait for the details of your trip!

Thanks:)
The people we had over lived in Belgium for a few years, so they had similar stories of traveling with family. I was glad to hear that my mom is not the only one who gets wierd when out of her comfort zone, lol!
I will start a report today, inbetween shuttling kids everywhere.
BTW, I bought a new pair of shoes the day before we left and they were wonderful on the trip!!! Naot Ashleys...so pretty and sooooo comfy!

My Naots don't look like that!

Comfort is important, but I think I would be reminded of sandals I wore when I was about four years old! Which doesn't mean I wouldn't buy and wear them, just that I would be reminded . . . ;D

Another thing, Gitte......those Naots are men's. But I agree that they're very dorky-looking. ;D

OK, sistereurope - I can live with those.... BUT shoesy, not to ruin your illusions about Israeli haute chaussure (or whatever that's called) - that model IS from the ladies' assortment, called "Columbia". So whatever harsh words I've said about your white sneakers, I take them back......

Shoesy, I thought of you when I bought the Naots!
We each took 3 pairs of shoes, which is more than we ever travel with. I had my Elle Monza's, a dressy mary jane style, and then my Munro Juliets (something like that) for Normandy. I changed shoes probably twice a day just for change for my feet and that worked really well.
BTW, I started my trip report.
