Rest assured, Chet and David will make every effort to attend. It will be exactly 6 months since their last trip (this Dec) so they will be due.

Good, Happy. We certainly wouldn't want Chet and David to be disappointed, now would we?

June 2008 I'll be on my way to...55!! But I took a quiz in Time Out New York yesterday to determine my "New York" age and I am 33!!!!! You get to subtract 4 years just for still living here over 41!!! The rest sort of has to do with how "current" you are, what you do in the City, etc. Have to admit I got to subtract for museum visits...they were in Paris!!! My collection consists of a kiosk, sitting next to a cute little plaque/perfume holder thing from the Old Town in Lyon, and a self wind music box(the kind where you choose the little box and song mechanism separately) that plays La Mer! And a Paris snowglobe music box that plays Les Marseilles.

geordy...you must feel positively teen-age today...33!! Now THAT would get me through my day with a smile pasted on my mug ALL day.

Thanks, Gitte~ Both apartments look absolutely wonderful (as do the prices - I'm looking for next May or June)! I would love to spend serious time in Montmartre as driving up last summer in the cab so piqued my interest in checking it out away from Sacre Coeur.
So, you've only got a couple of weeks before you are in Paris!! SO LUCKY!! Are you going to give us the real-time posts with pictures so we can all walk along with you? Hope you have a most fabulous time!!

Hi, luvparee (Joy?): I can understand why you want to go back to Montmarte. Here's my favorite picture of the Paris skyline (and, of course the ET) from up top, which was my desktop wallpaper for a long time (nothing like torturing myself when I'm at work!). It's true as some have observed that the surrounding area can be a little tacky, but after seeing Amelie we just had to go back, and this picture is my reminder of a lovely evening in June.

Becky - luvparee is my original (old) email "name" and Joy is my actual name -- so freely use whatever.
Loved the photo! I have pretty much the same picture from last June, but had decided not to go digital before that trip -- which was a very stupid mistake -- I could have bought 2 digital cameras for what it cost me to put pics on CD and then also have developed!!! Next trip for sure -- then I'll really feel like a grown-up!

Gitte. The apartment is so light and airy. What I really think you may need in June is another balcony. Good luck!

Becky, what do we put in the address to PM you? I tried this morning and it wouldn't work when I just put in "Becky" or "Becky (Berkley Travelers)" either

Happy, the "berkeleytravelers" is without a space in the middle (I seem to recall that the system required it to be one word). Also, in any post where my name appears as the author, it's actually a link and you should be able to click on it, which brings up my profile and another link for "send a private message."

Susan! Thanks!! It was and still is the hardest thing I have ever had to do -- like I lost my very best friend (and saying that sounds so stupid now!). However, I FEEL so much better and that in itself is so worth it.

Oh I would love that! I am looking forward to my early mornings by myself on our trip. Trying to get a 16 yr old out of bed early just is not going to happen, and my mother isn't a morning person either. So I am not going to wait around for them. I plan and being out of the hotel very early and enjoying watching the city wake up.

Good for you, mtngirl! I sat waiting for my sister to wake up a number of years ago in Paris. That lasted about two days until I realized how much time I was wasting. Now it's every (wo)man for themselves!

hear, hear - happy !! Life is too short to waste on watching other people sleep (except in case of very small babies, of course).
