A suggestion:
Croissants for breakfast and baguettes for dinner, Eating like this I will never get thinner... But if I walk from Bastille to Eiffel I might one day do the cover of Elle

I know happy, I am in awe of our multi-lingual songwriters. I write every day but can't write poetry worth a you-know-what. I can draw/paint a little though... HEY! Maybe I can illustrate the CD cover ;D

What kind of things do you draw/paint, Sis?

I've been bad lately Shoesy...I haven't been doing much drawing/painting. My last drawing was for my husband - it was a pencil drawing of the lighthouse on Ocracoke Island (in North Carolina). My last painting was of a big pepper....oh, here, you can see it behind my wedding cake in this photo from our wedding last year. (andi - that's the part of my kitchen that's done ) I hope to do more when the kids leave and I retire...most of the time I'm too tired to think about it! (that cake was incredibly yummy, by the way!!)

I think the painting is great! And the cake does look lovely..what flavor? And I could walk from here to Paris , but my Elle days are behind me! (literally perhaps? Maybe "Mode" if that is the magazine for "slightly" older ladies? Not yet the AARP though!

You're so talented, Sis........and rather modest if it took you this long to post one of your paintings.

Thank you very much Shoesy! I'm really not half as talented as I'd like to be...I am too much of a perfectionist and really not creative enough to be a "real" artist. But thanks all the same!
geordy, the cake was a mix: half was a devil's food cake with a ganache filling and the other half was a yellow cake with a raspberry comfiture filling...all covered in FRENCH buttercream! The bakery is known for their wonderful cakes.

Sistereurope, your painting is gorgeous and so is your wedding cake! The cake sounds sooooo yummy my mouth is watering. (It's dinnertime and I'm hungry!) I'm a painter, too...I did a painting of deviled eggs that's hanging in my kitchen. I'm not a serious artist, either, but it sure is a pleasure to dabble at it. Thanks for sharing a photo of your work! Also love the color of your wall.

I am sensing a new thread "What is your talent?" .......it would be cool to see just how clever you all are! That painting is fantastic.....I tried not looking at the cake but it was screaming "I'M HERE" so took a peek, then licked my screen

Andi - I almost licked my screen too, but I remembered that you're not allowed to get an LCD screen wet. ;D

Not sure if and where I should post this.... but following on from Andi's suggestion of 'talent' perhaps I could indulge myself and share some of my poetry with you here? I apologise in advance if i shouldn't have posted it here....
My Paris Adventure.... Looking into other people's lives from across the street in a Paris neighborhood... The muscled black guy with no shirt looking out his window while checking his fridge contents every five minutes... The skinny white guy cooking dinner in his boxers... The couple eating and relaxing on their bed... The big black woman throwing clothes and shoes from her balcony onto the street below ... the strange black guy walking by and picking them up... The old woman sitting in a chair watching me watching her... The old man leaning out his window and smoking... The woman climbing onto the awning from her window and walking her cat at midnight... All a collection of memories All living life in Paris..
