HI, Can any one give me advice on the hotel that is best situated IN the airport for an early morning terminal one departure? If possible I would like to avoid having to take a shuttle. Having never been to CDG I have no idea if that is possible. Warmac

What time is your flight? I'm most certainly not an expert, but I do know that there are some close-by hotels that run shuttles to the terminals (we rented a car once at the Holiday Inn and had to return it there before our flight so I know it's possible). Are you thinking of leaving your hotel to stay the last night at the airport?

There is a Sheraton in the airport (right by the TGV terminal). We have not tried it yet, but plan to do so at some point (right now, we're using up our accumulated Hilton points!). Using the shuttle from one of the other hotels wouldn't be so bad, however, as the Sheraton is in Terminal 2 (not 1), so you still would have to get over there. (I don't know if there's anything by way of hotels in Terminal 1, as we've never been in 1.) In my experience, the shuttles start very early and are very reliable so I would not be concerned about that. You probably can e-mail whatever hotels you are considering and ask them how often their shuttles run and what time they start.

Hello For early departures from CDG 1, the closest I think is the Sofitel. We've used it several times in the 90's and 00's when we used to travel on UA. My wife used it again last week--she only mentioned the very comfortable bed but mentioned nothing else either pro or con. The shuttle is very reliable. www.sofitel.comI think the room was 130 euros for one occupant. Yours FW

Last month, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for $75 (not euros) a night. Shuttle was reliable and on time. Came with breakfast as well (but didn't open until 6:30)
