The Europe Hotel is situated on the edge of the 15th arrondisement, bordering on the 7th. It is just around the corner from the Champs D'Mars and the Eiffel Tower, approx a 10 minute walk away. The hotel itself is small and very friendly with very good English speaking staff, each room is of a standard European size, that are kept spotlessly clean every day. All rooms have air conditioning and double glazed windows, There is a railway line that runs up high in front of the hotel but you don't hear it if the windows are closed. Each room comes with a private on suite bath or shower or both. There is a telephone with outside line in each room, a TV with some satellite channels, mini bar and safe. There is a small breakfast room in the basement that serves a continental breakfast from 7-10am daily. There is also lift access to all floors, however.... the lift is very small maybe room enough for 2, or 1 with all the luggage. There are many shops, restaurants and bistros in the area along with Le Mott Piquette metro station and a McDonald's. I would say that the area is more residential than touristy but still bustling with people. There is also a market underneath the train line every Wednesday and Sunday.

Relais du Louvre is in the 1st. It is a small very well kept hotel one block from the Seine, on the side of the Louvre and between The Bridge of the Artists and Pont Neuf. Near two metro stops and several bus routes. On the corner is Cador's an excellent patisserie. An easy walk to the left bank, Palais Royal, the Louvre, Dorsay, Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle and Ile St. Louis.
Hotel itself has an absolutely wonderful staff, is very clean and constantly being refurbished. Not inexpensive but the apartment and two very large rooms with sitting areas are excellent. Great closet space, safes, cable with English speaking as well as French channels, telephone and airconditioning.
We stayed last year and are returning this. Single rooms are small but friend who stayed there was comfortable. Some triples and doubles. Street is quiet and courtyard rooms even quieter though no view. there is the typical small elevator.

ooooops, this can be very hard to follow ! How can we post our hotel recommendations (which in a year from now will be MANY) in a way, so that visitors (guests/members) can easily get an overview ?

Gitte, how about if the hotels are a sub-board in the Arrondisement categories? That way, once people know what area they want to stay in, they can look at the hotels by Arr.

Happy, I think that's an excellent suggestion.
Truffaut, can you help?
