Is it just me or does this happen to others as well? Sometimes I think I have read every post on every thread and then all of a sudden I discover a post or two that I've missed?

No it happens to me too sometimes Shoesy, if a day has been busy I may miss something, I only find them if I go through each section a bit at a time.......the easiest way to keep up is when I read the 20 latest posts at the bottom of the home page.

Yes, typically I tend to do a quick check on the 20 latest messages in that option on the bottom of the page...so it is very likely that at times I miss whole threads too! Oh, dear! When I have more time, then I might go looking more specifically at topics themselves! Hate to think I might be missing fascinating threads!

I tend to do the same, and I too have learned my lesson that you have to check each section in order not to miss anything. If you've been away from the computer for quite a few hours (or God forbid a day!) and there have been more than 20 posts during that time, you can easily miss something..............and sometimes it's a real doozy. ;D

What will I do when away for two weeks with no e-mail or internet? I can't imagine what I will miss. Planning on taking my laptop to Vermont but house has no wifi so I will need to find an internet cafe or have withdrawal symptoms w/o Our Paris.

Holger - Funny how addicted we can get, right? And to think that I only learned how to use a computer about 5 years ago!!!!!

Yes, Holger! I understand your quandary! I too miss being able to check in online when away from a computer too long! What is up with that! As Shoesy says, here we lived computerless not all that long ago! Not it seems so very essential...well, to our happiness anyway! Well, Holger, I do hope you find an internet cafe or some such! (Going to Vermont does sound rather fun, otherwise!). I have learned the locations of various coffee shops and what not that are wireless on my various travel jaunts so that I can "glow" and have a bit of bagel and/or coffee to boot!

Well, it would certainly be easier for everybody to find all the posts if there were no categories, but the responses to my poll about that very subject were overwhelmingly in favor of keeping the categories. You can use the search function at the top of the page (up where it has the little icons for "home", "help", etc.) to search the entire forum. Maybe that will help. You can also bookmark threads of particular interest and choose to receive either a private message or an email everytime there is an addition to that particular thread.

Yes it happens to me too. I also (in addition to checking the 20 most recent) hit on my profile and look at my most recent posts to see if there have been additions. This whole forum is like a chat room!! And I mean that in a good way!

This may be a related issue -- in the last two days, I've had numerous threads show "new" (for new posts) but the most recent are all in the June 8-10 period. I can't tell in some instances if I already read them, or if they are showing up for the first time, ten days after being posted! Very confusing . . . .

Becky, I've experienced the same thing...but I thought I must be losing my mind and just didn't say anything. I can't figure out how I miss ANY posts, since I'm on this darn board more than I'm anywhere else these day.
