Sorry, that was a test. This computer started off with deleting (error message) my post 3 times, before the "nice" computerman told me that I must use another browser.
Then I started writing. A really long and really good report about what I did yesterday and about Cabaret, which must be the best performance in Paris for the last 25 years at least - and I looked so much forward to sending it to you.
I don't know what happened then, but I must have pressed the wrong button, because the page shut down on me, and it all disappeared. I am so devastated right now. I was almost through writing.
I am sorry, guys - but I simply cannot start all over again. I will get back to you, but I am not sure when.
Tomorrow I think I shall go to Chartres and Sunday out to Belleville and Menilmontant - and maybe Vincennes.

GRRR! I'm sorry Gitte - I HATE when that happens to me (usually just after I've written a really really long email to someone). We definitely appreciate the effort - it's nice of you to take your Paris time to update us as it is...enjoy your weekend and we'll just have to wait to hear about the cabaret some other time(anticipation is a good thing)

Sorry the computer was misbehaving, Gitte. I think you ought to smite it for deleting your post. Well, the important thing is we know you're fine and that you've been thinking of us just as you've been on our minds. I'm so glad "Cabaret" was a hit, though I never doubted it would be. I can't imagine a nicer place to see it than in Paris. You'll definitely enjoy Chartres, and I hope you have the pleasure of seeing Malcolm Miller in action.

Oh, dear! Well, just as SE stated, that generally ONLY happens after one writes an extra long and generally extra excellent e-mail ! When that happens to me, I think...how could I possibly reconstruct such "brilliance? Such wit? Such detail?" (okay, I think once a computer deletes one's words, they suddenly become irreplacable in one's mind!). Well, so I "feel your pain" ha! But glad to hear the cabaret was wonderful!!!!

Gitte, I have made a research on the web and found out a chain of restaurants making tartes flambées in Paris . It will certainly not be as good as in a traditional restaurant in Alsace, but at least you will get an opportunity to try some . The chain is called Flam's - 4 rue Tilsit, 8th arr . phone 01-42-56-84-40 - 16 rue du Colisée, 8th, 01-45-62-84-82 - 101 rue St Lazare, 9th, 01-48-74-74-90 - 32 avenue du Maine, 15th, 01-45-44-63-53
I advise you to stick to the "basic" tarte flambée (they also make some "fancy" ones) : cream, onions and bacon only .
Enjoy it !
