I think this is only US but may apply to Canada also. ----------- If you were not aware on February 17, 2009, TV stations/broadcasters must broadcast in Digital (signal) also known as DTV. If you do not have cable, dish or a digital TV you will need a converter box. So if still mystified (as I was) there is very comprehensive information on the website (below). WWW.DTV2009.org. So pass this website address to everyone you know. If you would like more information PM me, I attended a seminar yesterday sponsored by the FCC but the above web address does contain probably everything you need to know (and a application for a coupon for $40. off the price of a convertor box, which in most cases makes it free).

Penny, I'm so glad you posted this.
I think I'm okay, I have cable and some kind of digital box, so I guess that we are okay. To me it wouldn't make much difference , if I watch 30 minutes of TV a week I'm on overload. I much prefer reading my news and the shows on TV have NO interest to me. Even the Travel channel is insipid.
Now all I need is to find a new TV that will fit into our wall unit if the old one goes kaput! Why do all the flat screens have side speakers?
