Yes the Chatroom from the blog page is gone. I will try to see what I can do. In the meatime we can use the other chatroom on top of this page, right below the top banner.

The chatroom has disappeared? Oh my goodness! Please do try to reinstate that chat thingy, Luc. I remember that I once tried the other chat option, and it didn't work for me.

It seems the chatroom on the fron page is running again, was it only a temporary failure?

I am a new member and have entered the chat room several times and only encountered Luc and Sandy on one occasion. Is there any sort of schedule or popular time for Paris related chats? It seems that OurParis is about the only Paris related site with a chat room and it could be quite a valuable resource if promoted. Years ago the BP site had the best chat room known to francophiles with scheduled chats on literature, movies, cuisine, etc. and when it was abruptly discontinued they lost the heart and soul of the site.

I could not agree more Laidback. At our begining, a few months ago, we had a few chat with a large number of members, it was great. We decided to try to establish a schedule, with specific subject but without any success.
One of the problem was the time zone differences, and also the fact that some members are at work during the day and others are busy in the evening.
I have been chatting with Phread, Sandy, SisterEurope, Happy, Gittek and Shoesy, by sending them an PM when I see them online. I am leaving for Paris on Thursday, but when I returned I will do an online poll to find out if we have more interests.

Laidback (and Luc!)
What Luc wrote is correct - I stop by the forum while I'm at work, so for me, it's often hard to chat because I can only spend a few minutes on the site at a time (or else I'll be fired!!)
And Luc gave a good tip - the times I have chatted have been when Luc or Sandy or Truffaut or Shoesy and Gitte have invited me via the personal message feature. Maybe you could try that if you see a lot of members online at once...
Luc, I agree- When you and T return from Paris, perhaps we can re-visit the idea of establishing a "set" chat time?

With a still relatively small membership perhaps the interest is just not there. However after scanning some threads I would wager that a scheduled chat on a certain subject, i.e. movies, would attract a following. We have a member, cigalechanta, who is a veritable expert on French cinema and a new member, Beatchick, who is putting together a book on settings for Parisian movies. If I am beating a dead horse here please say so; my hide is thick from 68 years of questionable ideas

A chat about French cinéma sound great! Even with a limited number of members, it could be verry interesting. So I do not think that horse is dead, when I returned from la ville lumière I will definitetly organised something. In the meantime, anyone if welcome to advertise a chat time and or subject by starting a thread.
