Penny there is a whole new section just below the general section for learning French, this was just a thread to make the suggestion ;D I do believe the French section will become a very useful resource.

::)Ian, you don't think they'll be able to do it on a 6 hour flight? Phew! Thank goodness my flight is 8 hours, so I figure I should be just about fluent by the time I step off of the plane.

A friend I used to work with..retired NYPD detective now working for Four Season's Hotel..told me they sent him to France for the re-opening of the George v a few years ago. He just said one of there hotels, so I said Oh the George V? He said No its got a French name so I said Georges Cinq? He said Yeah that's it!!! As they say: You can take the boy out of Brooklyn........but you can't take Brooklyn out of the boy! Interesting conversation as I'd had lunch at the hotel the weeek before!!

andi- I guess I'm being dense (or not awake) I see a Section on Learning French but I don't see a thread about pronouncation, what is this word, etc. I see one on "what is your favorite French phrase" most of those replies are in French. (which is fine for those who know French but I can't put a sentence/phrase together)
