I am proficient in Word (somewhat in Excel) worked in specialized programs in my last job. However I literally know nothing about hard drive, IP, etc. If I had a problem at work called tech for computer, developer for specialized programs.
However in trying to fix something I did something that even my niece's husband (who is a tech) couldn't figure out.
When I am in AOL, Google, email, online entry forms, this post, etc. my Insertion Point is a flashing ¡ (bigger than that). It is extremely annoying as it is hard to tell exactly where I am on a word, page (especially if I mistyped and want to correct.
It is fine in Word and Excel a flashing vertical line.„
So if anyone knows how to fix, please! help.

I think you can change that the same way you change your mouse settings (i.e., do you want a big arrow for your cursor, do you want an hourglass that turns while it's working on something, etc.). Try looking on the control panel, under the mouse options.

Becky, no Mouse is just for Mouse but I did find under Accessibility Options, Display, Cursor Setting (technically it is not your cursor, which is probably why I overlooked, if I looked there). Like I said I had no idea how I did it, and my niece's husband was like "what?" next time I go to their house I'm going to sneak upstairs and change his, LOL. I only go to Control Panel for printer maintenance and since mine died I haven't been there lately. so thanks for suggestion it got the brain cells up and running even in my morning fog.

Andi - All that computer talk sounds so intimidating and complicated to a person for whom installing an avatar was such a big deal.
Hey - And no leg pulling, please! I have ballet class this evening, and my both legs need to be the same. LOL ;D ;D ;D

Shoesy, I'm still at the level you are and I like it just fine. Trying to learn more was just plain depressing. I finally threw in the towel and said ENOUGH!!
