Make sure your hotel is a long way from Berthillon, then walk, walk, walk, walk, walk! One of the great things about trips to Paris for me is that I can eat whatever I want, but because we walk from dawn to midnight, I never gain an ounce! I'm sure you'll be radiant and beautiful, with trim, toned legs from all that walking.

Oh, I definitely plan to do a lot of walking, aude. I'll also have to limit myself to only one Berthillon a day.

;)Fidget a lot. It will drive everyone around you absolutely nuts, but its been proven that fidgeters burn a lot more calories!

Shoesy - go to Paris, eat ALL the Berthillon ice cream and macarons and croissants that you want. Walking is a great exercise and may help you to maintain.
But please don't deprive yourself - you'll be in PARIS!! Live it up! Starve yourself when you get back if you absolutely have to and/or want to...just remember that no matter what, you will be a beautiful mother-of-the groom.

Shoesy.....do the dieting before you go to Paris (say maybe losing 5lb) then while you are there you need not worry what you eat! When you get back home.... Voila!!!! same as you always are!!!! ;D

Andi, I do the same as you...try to lose 5-10 lbs before I go so that I can eat what I want. I have to admit though, it didn't work last fall. I think there were a few too many patisseries on my itinerary. Shoesy, if your son was really a good son, he'd understand your predicament and postpone his wedding date

We don't want to postpone it because the longer we wait, the hotter it'll be since we're talking about July. (My Paris trip is in June.) We're planning to have a garden wedding, so don't want the weather to be too hot.

Ohhh Shoesy, it sounds so lovely! What an exciting time for you in your's and your families lives! Best Wishes to Everyone! As for the issue at hand, I can be of no help with that. I am just hopeless when it comes to trying to loose wait or turn down an icecream cone!!!

Lost 9 pounds!!! I consider myself lucky not to gain any!
And I try the pre-Paris diet thing too but it does not always work...for some reason there is usually some celebration/holiday/event/whatever that involves food soon before I leave.
Plus as we know from TA I have to have my pre-trip bagel, pizza, hamburger....no, for those of you who didn't see the thread, not all in the same day!!
I'm sure you'll be fine Shoesey...and choose your dress wisely!!
