I saw on the news today that President Sarkosy was accused of being drunk at the G8 summit after a meeting with the russian president Vladamir Putin. He appeared to be breathless, stiffling a laugh and lost for words and was said to have drunk more than just water by the Belgian press. Other sources say that he is teetotal and was suffering a stomache upset, after watching the video on youtube I can not decide, What do you think? www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uxb0JHqzlA

He definitely looks kinda drunk - I can't make up my mind - but one thing I know for sure.........that guy at the beginning of the clip is quite a hunk !

I won't tell Mr. Shoesy you said that! Personally, I haven't seen enough of Sarkosy to tell from that clip if he's acting strangely or not (okay, he is acting weird, but maybe that's normal for him for all I know!?!)

I vote for him not being drunk : he takes so much care of his public image, he wouldn't do something so stupid . Plus I also watched another longer Youtube video, he doesn't stammer at all (you should hear me after my first glass of wine at "apéritif"...) . Annette is right, he is just his usual grimacing self, with maybe some additional stomach cramps ...

Apparently, Bush was also ill with a stomach bug so perhaps there was something going around.

I saw the video and I found it totally hilarious !! But everything Sarko does or says, I love it !! Why ? just because he married me 12 years ago (12 years sharp, it was june 18th 1995) when he was "just" the mayor of Neuilly-Sur-Seine !!

Apparently, Bush was also ill with a stomach bug so perhaps there was something going around. Well, Putin's government has taken a rather active role in poisoning its oponents lately. Thank God the Soviet Union has been reformed!

;D Truffaut--very clever comment! AnneParis--Are you really serious? Maybe YouTube is responsible for Juppe's defeat.

Holger -- I do believe that anneparis means he performed the ceremony, not that she is now the "first lady" (or whatever it would be) of France - LOL!

I was more than happy to help Andi out. She solved my problem concerning why my computer screen didn't show that it was Sarastro's birthday.

That is too funny ! Sorry for the misunderstanding ! Well, I have a good excuse, english is not my mother tongue ! So, to be clear, he performed our wedding ceremony. But you know what, he actually met his then future-wife Cecilia when he married her (= performed her wedding ceremony) with a famous Frenchman Jacques Martin. He even told Jacques Martin, during the ceremony : "what a lucky man you are today". Some months later, they were having an affair , she divorced Martin and married Sarko !! Ahhh, the French and their mistresses !!

Having gotten to know A, Anne's husband, I can assure all of you that our Anne has far finer taste in men than Sarko!!

Anneparis - You needn't make any excuses about your English. It's excellent.
