Well, as I opened my radio this morning I was treated to the related G* "important" story of Sarkozy and our Canadian Prime Minister Harper deciding to skip lunch at the Elysée in order to walk rue Saint-Honoré.
Shaking hands and stoping to chat with passerbys they make their way to lunch at 1728. Maybe they hear the recommendation on some Paris blog !
I supposed it an illustration of the décontracté style that Sarko want to give his presidency.....

I know, luc, but we don't usually spend that much on a dinner. Gitte and I may go for tea, though. ;D

It's pretty astounding to see a President walk out onto the street, shake hands with people, and then have lunch in a resto, rubbing elbows with his/her constituents. What a different reality from my American POV. Just amazing.

Yes I think that Sarko will put la main à la pâte! I am not under the impression that he will spend a lot of time behind his desk at the Elysée.

Journalists now call him "the hyperpresident", and the socialist (opponent) leader was being sarcastic today about the fact that Sarko should remember that he has got ministers too, so he shouldn't try to be in charge of everything .

He will soon find out that he can not micro-managed everything, but I am under the impression that he will try very hard to do so.
