More places I love to shop in Paris:
Kazana -- scarf shop with several locations around Paris...locations listed on their website. They have very reasonably priced scarves, along with some cool earrings.
Grand Epicerie at Bon Marche -- As most of you probably know, this is where you can find all kinds of interesting food items to take back home. I usually buy orange Valhrona chocolate to use in my warm chocolate cake recipe. (It's probably available cheaper elsewhere.) They also have some great pastries for eating on the spot!
Souvenir stores along the Rue du Rivioli near the Louvre -- I buy a few junky souvenirs each visit. Can't help it. I have a collection of cheap fans on my screened porch that I've bought on my travels, and coasters with scenes of Paris. Everyone in my family has a tacky apron featuring Mona Lisa, etc., that we use when we all cook together. I also love the little plastic trays with scenes of Paris.
Saturday flea market at Vanves -- I love cruising through here, and I think there are still treasures to be found. I've bought oil paintings, tole trays, wooden pegs for hanging keys, crystal aperitif glasses, and other assorted household items. We never stay long, but it's a fun place to go early on Saturday while our kids are still sleeping back at the hotel.
Despite evidence to the contrary, my house isn't really packed with junk! more later Aude
PS love this forum!
