I've had a local friend recommend seeing a show at the Crazy Horse, Moulin Rouge, etc.
Is this something any of you recommend?
I saw somewhere that the Moulin Rouge was a waste of $$$ and time. Is that true?

I personally would never waste my money on them . I am not a fan of cabaret shows. Guess I am like Gitte here. I see them as tacky. Sorry.

The only time I went to one was when I won 4 tickets to the Crazy Horse. It was a very well choreographed show but I wouldn't want to waste my money on it. Very expensive if I had to pay for those tickets. I would rather spend my dollars/euros in a wonderful meal.

I just love anything theatre, cabaret. If a show is entertaining and the costumes are good I would consider it, even if it wasn't authentic anymore. The only thing that stops me seeing the Follies Bergere (sp?) Crazy Horse or Moulin Rouge, is indeed the price.  |

You often say Moulin Rouge is a tourist trap, and Iam agree with that. I often recommend my guests the Crazy Horse, but it is more... erotic. For you, that already came to Paris and love french culture other than through clichés, it may be a bas trip, but I can tell you that many tourists coming from Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan enjoyed at the Moulin Rouge.
But to be honest, I hate the place too^^
