I've had a local friend recommend seeing a show at the Crazy Horse, Moulin Rouge, etc.
Is this something any of you recommend?
I saw somewhere that the Moulin Rouge was a waste of $$$ and time. Is that true?

I personally would never waste my money on them . I am not a fan of cabaret shows. Guess I am like Gitte here. I see them as tacky. Sorry.

The only time I went to one was when I won 4 tickets to the Crazy Horse. It was a very well choreographed show but I wouldn't want to waste my money on it. Very expensive if I had to pay for those tickets. I would rather spend my dollars/euros in a wonderful meal.

I just love anything theatre, cabaret. If a show is entertaining and the costumes are good I would consider it, even if it wasn't authentic anymore. The only thing that stops me seeing the Follies Bergere (sp?) Crazy Horse or Moulin Rouge, is indeed the price.

You often say Moulin Rouge is a tourist trap, and Iam agree with that. I often recommend my guests the Crazy Horse, but it is more... erotic. For you, that already came to Paris and love french culture other than through clichés, it may be a bas trip, but I can tell you that many tourists coming from Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan enjoyed at the Moulin Rouge. But to be honest, I hate the place too^^
