I was wondering if anyone visited the Tour on rue Etienne Marcel? Since the entrance price is only 5 Euros I guess there is no harm in trying, The website also mention a guide tour around the Tower with a visit of Notre Dame de Bonne Nouvelle + passage du Caire+ quartier Montorgueil + enceinte de Philippe Auguste. Sound like an interesting two hours of Medieval Paris. pagesperso-orange.fr/tourjeansanspeur/

As far as the tower itself is concerned, I would not really recommend its visit . The tower is nice architecturally but empty, no furniture or such . There are only explanatory panels in each room, and I think that those are in French only but I am not sure about it anymore . Then there are temporary exhibits in the cellar, but the one that we saw (school in medieval times) was mostly panels too, hardly any exhibit . I really enjoyed it though, it explained a lot of things, but again I can't remember whether the panels were in English too . They say on the website that the next one (Apr-Nov) will be about health in medieval times .

When we were there the panels were in French only, so I only got about 1/4th of what I was trying to read.
And yes it certainly is bare!
I did have a good time tossing a ball back and forth with some little boys in the schoolyard next door!
