What an interesting concept Luc! I wonder if they will display the clock now?

Very interesting! I think it would be smart of the Pantheon to publicize the restoration, it would probably increase attendance. It's a monument that many people don't visit, but I really like it, especially the crypts.

I wish we could trace one of the secret society member and ask him to be a member of OurParis! I agree with Darcy a lot of people overlook the Panthéon, if only for the Foucault pendulum it is worth the time.

What an interesting article, it will certainly make me think differently when walking around in summer. There could be people literally under my feet plotting and planning. I think it's a magical idea (so long as they know what there are doing) Ok, they are breaking the law, but for a good cause.

Oh, if only we have more people with the expertise and means to do more of the same.........
Yes, Luc, wish you could find and persuade at least one of them to join OurParis................

How right you are about the Pantheon being overlooked by many. I didn't get to it until my 6th visit to Paris. The interior was stunning, which I photographed, but being able to photograph all of Paris 360 degrees from outside the dome was unbelievable.

We had our first trip at the end of last year and the Pantheon was on the list and we made it. It was wonderful and there were hardly any people there. I would highly recommend it for a first visit.

This link says the clock is the Wagner 19th century clock in the mausoleum. Luc, there is a link to contact the Untergunter at the top of the page, but I can't get it to work with my email. Do you want to try?! I love your idea of convincing one of their members to join our forum! www.ugwk.eu/

Very interesting article, Annette! I hope they do wind the clock again and display it. And Luc, get to work on this and get us a new 'underground' member!

I have very recently read somewhere that a prominent figure has been identified as a member of this underground group, but my brain is so foggy I can't recall who or where I read it! (probably in a magazine in a hospital waiting room?) Has anyone else come across anything about this? This group really intrigues me.

Annette, I have been looking and searching and sleuthing, and remember I do research for a living , but nothing yet!
I am afraid we will need Nancy Drew or Hercule Poirot for that one. LOL
