Unless you receive some kind of compensation from another website for posting content, I see no reason why one's original photographs and other travel information cannot be posted here or elsewhere without fear of reprisal.
I should be careful about wholesale copying and pasting of content from other sources to include here. It's really unnecessary and may draw needless attention.
My suggestion, if someone finds printed information from another source and would like to include it in these pages (this probably includes all of us), simply rewrite the information in your own words and share it in confidence.
Using someone else's ideas and improving and enhancing them is the source of many books: fiction and nonfiction

LOL. One of single most repeated complaints about our participation on other boards is the number of times we've had to answer the same darn question for the umpteenth time....and yet we all continue to do it anyway. So....I, for one, don't have a problem hammering out the answer to the same question at least one more time on this board if it's going to help the cause....and I suspect most other contributors will feel the same.....therefore solving any copyright related issues that may arise. There are many times The Great One could have simply pasted a link from a previous post, or GitteK could have written about Montmartre once and cut and pasted, or Shoesy could have mentioned Berthillon and then refered to the link, or Sarastro could link to an old post about grape varietals....and the list goes on. The point, I believe, of this wonderful new site is to make it different and unique from any other board that any one of us may have participated on, and the way to do that is to answer questions anew, with a fresh look at the query, with updated information and a response that's specific to the question and respects the OP. Cutting and pasting from anything simply means that the OP could find that information somewhere else on the web by doing a Google search or finding a link from another site. But that's not why they come here, or to any board. They come here because they have a question, and they're looking for a real-time response. So I say, with much respect to everyone who posts here, that we shouldn't worry at all about copying and pasting from that "other" site, but simply do what we love to do, and what brings us to this board, and that is, help people who have questions about a city that is dear to us all.

And you know what ? If even we can't copy it, we can always remember what we wrote and simply write it again, OK ? I can go on forever about Paris, so no problemo for me.
