Has anyone been out to either of the Frank Gehry buildings in Bercy? One is the Cinémathèque Française and the other is the American Center My husband is fascinated with this architect's style, so we will be checking them out next trip. My question is whether there is anything worthwhile to visit inside these two places, or should we just stick to admiring the architecture from the outside?

The Cinemathèque does actually organize architectural visits . They are conducted by a specialist in architecture (in French, I'm afraid ...), duration is one hour and a half, price is 8 euros . Only I couldn't find any schedule for these visits ... But you could email for an information request at : contact@cinematheque.fr If they don't answer your email in English, send me a PM and I will write to them in French I didn't find any information about the American Center .

Ooooh, so glad you posted this. I had never considered visiting these buildings, and it's a great idea. I'd love to see the Guggenheim in Bilbao, but it's in such an out-of-the-way place (at least for us), that we might not make it there. Seeing these two would be fun. If you go, please let us know the details.

Sure thing, Aude! We'd love to visit the Guggenheim, also--maybe one day. We've seen the Disney Concert Hall in LA, and the Experience Music building in Seattle. His style is definitely distinct and unusual!
