I just read a fun article about Paris in one of my travel magazines (TravelAge West, 5/28/07), and thought I'd share some of the info with everyone. Some of this we all know about, but a few were new to me so I thought maybe others might like to know too (and the links are good resources).
Free music in the parks from May to October (this sounds great, but the link isn't working yet...hopefully it will be up soon!)

Mediterranean roots, from ancient pharaohs to classical Greeks, and Sicily to Sardinia and everything in between concert at the Arabic Institute thru June 2

Paris Jazz Festival, June 9-July 28 in the Parc Floral

Grab your tambourines and head into the streets for the all-night music and dancing festival Fete de la Musique, on June 21. Anyone can play any instrument, anywhere--and there are concerts.

Paris Plage, July 19 - August 20
Journee du Patrimonie, the first week of September, is a weekend of free access to monuments that aren't open to the public, including the Elysee Palace, foreign embassies, private gardens, the Senate house and more. (no website for this)
Les Nuits Blanches is held the first week in October with a party in Paris that lasts until the next day. Museums are open after-hours and there are light shows all over town. (no website listed)
Lastly, Les Soldes begin June 28
