I just read this on Facebook - Pat Hilliard is my FB friend and she was also FB friends with Randy Silver who passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 - here is the post that Pat commented on:
>>>Randy Silver died around 10pm Thursday night in the ICU of Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame. Randy was surrounded with love and care and died peacefully in the presence of wife Anne, his daughter Erica, his minister, members of his extended family and some of his close friends. He was 72 years young. Randy developed acute aspiration pneumonia caused by complications related to his long fight with Parkinson's disease and associated conditions while seeking treatment at Mills Hospital, beginning shortly after Christmas. He aspirated on two separate occasions while eating, the second time requiring use of a ventilator to maintain his breathing. Randy was transferred to the ICU of Peninsula Hospital last Saturday. He died as he lived, with great dignity.<<<<<
Very sorry to hear this as Randy was a talented, nice man! On one of my trips to San Francisco to visit friends, Randy and I had lunch together at a French restaurant in downtown San Francisco - very interesting man and we all know he was a great photographer! I'm sure that many of you remember Randy from the early days of Our Paris Forum - just thought you would like to know this news! His Facebook page is up and active - maybe you can read more posts there.

I also recall his posts and enjoying them. I take terrible pictures and rarely snap anything so I enjoyed reading his posts. Will check Amazon to see if the book is still available.
