Just heard that a fav NYCB dancer Robert Fairchild is going to star in a version of the show that I think starts previews at Theatre de Chatelet in Nov...runs thru New Years and then starts previews on B'way next spring! Choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. If I don't get to see it in Paris definitely will here!

No but I would love to get some recommendations! It will be my first NYE in Paris! I've been there twice for New Years..both times went to Opera! Well actually ballet..once each at each Opera House. On NYE they have a ballet with one intermission and free Champagne and hors d'oeurves and desserts at intermission. Gets out about 10/ 1030 so plenty of time for NY stuff. One year we were staying near Arc du Triomphe so went there for Midnite..the other went to Pl du Concorde. Lots of folks, fireworks, etc. The Champs Elysees is really magical then! Metro is free NYE until around noon on NYD! They really should do that here! Of course there are many restaurants that do a special meal, etc. Lucky you!

Thanks Geordy! Was thinking of finding a tasting menu but will definitely look into ballet tix. Either way, I think a walk along the Champs Elysee (with a bottle of champagne of course!) will be a great place to end the evening. Do you know if the Christmas market vendors will be set up that night?

Not sure Rachel...I was above or below where they are on my NY',s Eves! But don't think some of those Mkts. , in other streets in Paris..are open too much past Christmas. At Concorde there were stands, trucks(!) selling sandwiches/sausages/champagne!

Thanks Geordy. I have heard the Christmas markets in Paris aren't that great, at least compared to those in Alsace which is where we'll be prior. Love the idea of mobile Champagne vendors!
