finally here...but only for day

Hi everyone.

We were only in Paris for one day but will be back on the 6th for nearly a week. We met up with my sister and her partner who arrived the day before us and rented an apartment in the Marais with a pull out couch they offered up to us for our one night. The company is Paris Rentals by Ruben and they are really pleased with him and the apartment.
My sister had big news for us...while out for dinner the night before for her BD Jules proposed. Apparently he talked with our mother the week before because "I'm an old fashioned kinda guy". What he didn't know is that our mother called it months ago! (just realized I didn't write anything about this on the blog...must fix that!)
Spent the day wandering, shopping, eating, people watching and drinking wine to celebrate. More on our blog www.bmeurope2009.blogspot.com

Well, apart from the walk-up to the 6th floor, there's nothing wrong with a free bed in Paris. :-)

Sounds like your trip is off to a good start. I also did a day trip to Strasbourg last time and found my ears popping when the train went really fast. Strasbourg is a lovely place to visit.
