I am very sad at the loss of many of the original initiators of and posters on this site. They had so much to contribute and while I know we all get busy with aspects of our life and things may have changed. I miss their insights and contributions.
Do others feel the same way?

Absolutely! But I think it has to do with Facebook, folks having their own blogs, skype, etc. But as you say, life gets busy and I for one do not have the time for all that! This is/was my "social media"! I do wish if people decide to "leave" they let us know...Oh dear maybe they do... some of us....

Yes, I miss them too! I still check in (almost) every day and get a little thrill when I see new posts! I don't keep up on Facebook or the blogs, either. I know some don't stop by often anymore because of the problem with Google Chrome.

I miss it too. I have had little time for travel lately due to family and work issues. The few trips we have managed have been short and closer to home. I am excited to be planning a Christmas trip this year to Paris. I agree that "facebook" is the new norm for lots of folks who used to post here. I find it to be rather addicting. I try not to spend too much time there. Otherwise I'd get nothing else done.

I am not a fan of facebook and rarely use it. I always enjoyed this site and do enjoy the people I have met on it. By the way Suzanne, we are booked for two weeks in Paris from December 19-January 3. So perhaps we will overlap and get together. The weather may be awful but I am looking forward to the holiday markets and decorations and just being i Paris at another time of year.

Hi Barbara, I would love to see you and your husband again. We will be there from the 24th until the 1st. We were there two years ago in early December. We really only had one day of windy rainy weather. The worst weather we've experienced so far in Paris was in March, the year we met you.
I will touch bases with you when our plans are firmer and the date is nearer. So far, the only thing I've done is to book the apartment. We will be in the 2nd off of rue Montorguiel

You have made me very happy. It will be great to see you again. We will be in the 6th as I decided and Finn agreed that we have always been right bankers and should see how we like the left bank. This is the first privately booked apartment and hope we won't regret doing that as we love Perfectly Paris but they focus on the right bank.
Let's keep in touch. Barbara

Holger - I'm proud of you for booking a left bank apt. this time. So far, I haven't been interested in trying new (hotel) accommodations in Paris. I'm perfectly happy returning to the one hotel I'm familiar with.
Regarding people's priorities changing, that's only natural. Ever since my twinnies were born, I find myself thinking about them all the time. I see them 3 times a week, and I miss them when I don't see them.
As for Paris, I feel like I'm due for a trip, but I can't seem to get my husband to commit.

Hi Shoesy, I know what you mean. When our first grandchild arrived I was over the moon. Now he is 10 and has 2 brothers. We spent the day with them today and enjoyed every minute of it.
Barbara, I'm happy you are branching out and trying a new area. We have stayed in many different locations over the years. This is the first time we are staying where we have stayed before. I love Rue Montorguiel and this particular apartment was very comfortable when we were there a few years ago. I like the 5th a lot too. Rue Mouffatard is delightful. We stayed once in the 6th. I was not thrilled with the apartment we had there. The area is very lively and I would like to stay there again some day.
Can't wait to get to Paris. It has been way too long.

That is the way I feel too. Once I knew that last year we would be in Norway and Denmark, I had to start planning the next trip to Paris in order to enjoy Scandinavia.
I would love to be able to go more often but aside from the money, we are getting older and long trips on planes with all the miseries of airport waits are getting increasingly difficult.
i envy people like Gitte, Denise and Mossie for being able to go more often.

Same here Holger. These old bones really hate airports anymore. We're okay after we get there. We are thinking of selling our huse and moving to a wonderful retirement community. The apts/ are as big as the house and all utilities are included as is a meal a day in a lovely restaurant with good selections > lots of services too so hope it happens soon so we can go in Nov as planned!

Yes they do take cats but it is near Wekiva Springs and there are lots of deer foxes possums and raccoons that roam the property and Gizzy would not last long and he hates being inside all the time. The 3 young boys next door who care for him when we travel and love him will adopt him and we can have visiting privleges

Although there are many really fast weight loss systems available, especially over the Internet, the degree to which anyone sees results is down to how well they apply themselves to the problem. Losing weight can be for health reasons, self image reasons or both but whatever the reason, you must be sure that you're doing it for your benefit and not another person.
