We spent most of the afternoon in this surprisingly-interesting museum on rue Grenelle one block from rue du Bac. The special exhibit of Venetian glass (mostly from Murano) over the last five centuries was fascinating, and I didn't really expect to like it very much. The English-language audio guide added a lot, from the ground floor with a lot of very modernist (and often odd) art pieces to the first floor showing five centuries of objects designed for household use and produced by diverse methods.
The upper floor shows Aristede Maillol's versatility as an artist with a very large collection of his paintings, sculptures, tapestries, etc. as all as works by other prominent artists his model and "companion" collected.
This is probably considered a "minor" museum, but in most places other than Paris or Italy it would be a star.

Thanks for the report on this museum! We almost went last year for the Pompeii exhibit, but ended up missing it and I've always wondered what it was all about. This Murano glass exhibit sounds pretty interesting. Might have to check that one out next month. Hope everything is going well for you at the apartment!
