Hello and thank you to all for all the help. We are returning to Paris this May for trip #9. We have rented apartments in the 1st,7th and 11th. This year we booked the 18,near metro Clingacourt. I would appreciate hearing from anyone about the area,restaurants, shops etc. Thank you. Elaine

Hi Lainie, You might begin by reading a couple of threads in this category. They're older, but things don't change much in Montmartre . There's one called The Quiet Side of Montmartre, and another on page 2 of this Quartier by Quartier, a pictorial which will give you a good idea of what the area looks like. Happy Exploring!
