I went on a very "spur of the moment" trip to Paris recently - booked my flight on Feb. 12 and left home on Feb. 19! Still not sure how I got ready in just a week! Anyway, three of us went to the 180 Bar at the Pullman Hotel - what a view of the Eiffel Tower!! It was like we could reach out and touch it! Great experience and I'm glad we were able to be there - too bad the bar/restaurant can't stay at that location but after the bar/restaurant on the ground floor is renovated, the 180 Bar on the 10th floor will close. We were told that the space will be made into meeting rooms, reception halls, etc. etc. - nice to have a wedding reception in that space.

That's on my list! I leave in 5 hours ;D Sandy, let me tell you spur of the moment--Darryl had something come up this weekend and he can't go to Paris with me So last night my best friend said she'd go--this is 6:00 the night before I'm scheduled to fly out. She was on the phone with the airline for an hour getting it arranged, but she did it and she's coming with me! Girls trip!!! ;D I am very disappointed that Darryl can't come--we've been looking forward to this trip together--but he's needed here much more right now, so I'm trying to be unselfish...

Glad you will get to go to the 180 Bar Annette, but sorry that Darryl can't go with you to Paris! But, you will have your best friend to do things with.
You will love the view from the 180 Bar!! Fantastic - but a little tip for you - we went after dark and loved seeing the Eiffel all lit up as well as the surrounding area - however, I noticed on Out and About in Paris Blog that she was there when it was still light outside so could see the surrounding area in the daylight - IF I was lucky enough to go back, I would go while it was still daytime and then wait right there for the sun to go down and the lights to come on!

That's what I plan to do, Sandy! Don't you just love 'Out and About in Paris'?!

Good idea - as I mentioned it before, wish I would have thought of it when I was there - and yes, I love "Out and About in Paris" - great Blog - she really does some cool things and it's so nice that we get to read about it on her Blog!

Darcy - what are your dates for Paris?
Just curious - wish I could go back in April or May but the air fares are so high then!

I'll be there April 8th to 29th. Airfare from Florida is $1100, terrible but it was the same in March so I decided to wait for warmer (I hope) weather. You live in the midwest, right? Edit: If I had looked first, I'd have seen that you live in Iowa.

Edit: If I had looked first, I'd have seen that you live in Iowa. You get much better fares than we do - I paid a little over a $1000 for this last trip but the fares starting in April are $1500 - 1800!!!! Just a little too steep but I keep watching for a sale and also get fare alerts from several sites - keeping my fingers crossed!

Pullman Hotel is a great place for dining with gorgeous view. I want to watch the sunrise seen during my visit but that not happened yet.

It is a world where everyone talks about talent, but no-one has any. A world with a giant cash register for a God. A world in which you cannot breath without paying someone a percentage. The show must go on, but only because the profits must go on..
