Hi all, I am still in a state of shock and disbelief over what happened today in the US, my country. How someone could shoot and kill 20 innocent children is so beyond me. It males you take a step back, and be thankful for life... It seems fitting that I wrote this blog post about taking my daughter to Paris in Jan...in the spirit of what happened today, I want to share my story of hope: sisterofminehomeagain.wordpress.com/2012/12/12/paris-with-my-best-girl-take-two/bisous

An exalt to you for such a beautiful, informative post, Sis! I clearly remember your 2006 trip to Paris, including the difficulties that Jordan had, though I didn't understand the nature of her illness. She has indeed grown into a lovely young lady, though I must add that her mom still looks like a teenager. ;D Wishing you guys a phenomenal trip next month, which I am sure will be documented in your fantastic blog. As for the Connecticut incident , I'm still in disbelief. What a tragedy to have occurred! This is supposed to have been a joyous season, and it has turned into one of utter sadness and endless tears for so many.......those who were directly involved, as well as everyone else who has a heart. Lives will never be the same for all those families. My prayers are with them.

I also give you an exalt for this post. I had no idea about your daughter's condition and I've begun reading your new blog which I love. Even here in Canada, the Facebook and other posts ring with sadness about the shooting at the school. Everyone I speak to is so sad about it all.
Again, thanks for sharing your life and love of Paris so openly.

What an inspiring post, Sister. You and your daughter are remarkable women. You always have a smile on your face and show such an enthusiasm for life. Your daughter is very lucky to have you in her life.
As for those poor children and adults. What can you say? There is never a good time for something like this to happen but I cannot help thinking the holidays will intensify the loss for everyone. Such heatbreak!

People and not guns may kill people. However, while we are not able to monitor who may be emotionally unstable or simply a psychopath, we should be able to control the ready availability of certain types of guns. How many people really need assault weapons? This shooter had the guns available in his home as they belonged to the mother whom he killed at the start of the rampage.
But what is so devastating are the losses suffered by the families of the innocent victims, children but also adults.

we will never know what really drove this young man to do what he did...but clearly more gun control , and safe guarding,is needed...it is sad that when the perpetrators of these types of crimes who survive have court dates..you can't keep straight which one they are because there are so many!
The web of sorrow with 28 victims is just so painful to contemplate.at any time.but esp at this time of year...gifts are already bought that will not be given...decorations that sadden ...
Yes we should all be grateful for the blessings we have..and keep others in our prayers and good thoughts.
