This is my first trip when I've made purchases eligible for detaxe. If I keep the items in my carryon, can I do this after I check in for my flight? I would prefer to check in first, in case the lines are long.
I'm flying out of CDG, Terminal 1.
Thanks!

;D
As I recall from October 2011 you just have to have the items and all the requisite forms with you. That year unlike previous ones, there were two lines. One for items where you had paid in cash and one for credit card payments. That was different than for earlier trips. It took forever and was very confusing as to which line. There were also whole groups of people traveling together.
Hopefully they have simplified the process as it took me well over an hour till I got to a window. Then things moved OK. But you do need to allow time for the process.

On my July visit, I bought a ton of beautiful lingerie during the soldes. My husband bought me a lovely bottle of perfume. I received my VAT refund, we're still waiting for his, we mailed them at the airport at the same time - go figure. I think it's hit or miss as to whether you actually get the credit, though I like to think our outstanding one will someone finally make it to us.

Well I got to the airport 3 hours early. Checked in first in less than 10 minutes, and headed to detaxe with my form and my purchases.
There was a machine that I thought I could use, but I didn't see the symbol on my form that was needed. So I got in line - 3 desks open and 2 people ahead of me in line Waited about a minute, handed the agent my form, boarding pass, passport and receipt. She stamped the form before I had a chance to pick up my bag I had knocked over. Stuck the form in the envelope and put it in the mailbox. Detaxe took about 5 minutes.
Geordy - to answer your question - I bought a Longchamps wallet and purse. I was just going to buy the wallet, but since I was well on my way to qualify for detaxe, I couldn't resist the purse!

I got my refund promptly but hubby is still waiting for his, and this is from July!! Can anyone recommend if there are any steps I can take next? We still have our green paperwork as well as our receipt.

Hi travelluver. Seems like a long time to be waiting. Mine posted to my credit card just over 30 days from when I mailed it at the airport.
Perhaps you could contact the retailer?
