I'd go back to Versailles just to have a ride on this beautiful train car - how lovely!

I was just reading that five more trains will be added by the end of 2012, increasing our chances of riding one! :-)

I went to Versailles on my first trip to Paris some 20-odd years ago and never since.
I remember walking off into some garden area, finding a nice big patch of lawn and laying down in the sunshine while listening to my bright yellow Sony Walkman - remember those? ;D
I would love to go back but all the stories of overcrowding really do turn me off. A trip in one of these carriages might be what I need.

I went to Versailles in October. On the way back I got to the train station just as the packed train was ready to leave. I jumped in the first car. It took me a few minutes to realize it was decorated - there was so many people it wasn't easy to see the walls. There was a small section at the back of the car decorated in red and looked to me like a bedroom. That's where I would choose to sit. Didn't take pictures since it was full of people. I took a couple pictures of the ceiling and walls. Not the best - I was trying to avoid people since I figured I'd post them online.
