Hi Everyone I've just joined the site and I'm glad to take part in a discussion like this on Paris. I wanted to see if you some of you could help me out with a question (note I'm not trying to spam or anything, just an honest question) I've been looking the past few weeks for a cheap flight to Paris (going with my fiancee for a week) and fares have been somewhat ok in price but not great. I was looking around for baseball tix one day and I saw an ad for a flight service. They are quoting me over Thanksgiving at $439 R/T with taxes included. I asked about Barcelona as well which came in at $380 R/T!!!! They sent me a screen shot as well that confirmed this. Still talking to them now and I have called one of their references who they said confirmed it. So I wanted to see if anyone else used it as well or know anything about it? I've posted their facebook page and info below. Please let me know!!!! Thanks Matt www.facebook.com/pages/Global-Travel-Pass/417110035003108?ref=hlglobaltravelpass@gmail.com

This place has no website, but a Facebook page?? Sounds fishy to me. Are you sure you're not the owner of this Facebook page and just here trying to drum up some business? Nothing comes up for this company when doing a Google search. I certainly wouldn't book with them. You know the saying, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is."

A company in 2012 without a website? Really? I'm with Annette and Sandy on this. Hope it turns out okay for you - definately not something I am brave enough to try.

Well I took the chance and I have gone with this guy to see. He got the flight for me at $467.23 R/T leaving 11/20-11/26. He explained to me how he uses codes to bring down the fare. He said most international tickets have a surcharge for fuel that is $400-500 on average. That's how he was able to bring it down for me. I would post a pic of the fare but I don't see how on here. Anyway if you PM I can maybe try to send something. I gave him $150 as his fee (I purchased the ticket directly). I feel more confident but we will see. Kind of excited actually.

You're flying round trip to Paris from where?? You booked the ticket "direct" from whom, this guy or the airline? You paid $467.23 plus a $150 fee? And you somehow got around the fuel surcharge? A picture of the fare wouldn't convince me--anyone can do that. Do you have a confirmed booking with the airline? I would call the airline direct and find out. Still sounds extremely fishy to me.

My trip is from NY. What I did was but the ticket direct from the travel website (used Expedia) and them gave the guy $150 for giving me the code that got this down. I was hesitant too but I got a confirmation number today from Delta and I checked the website also and my trip came up confirmed as well. So far looks good.
For the fuel surcharge, apparently the code is what brought it down. It looks like those fees can be played with in the tickets. Got technical for a little when he explained but seems to work.

Under the heading "if something seems too good to be true, it probably is" -- there is something very wrong with this entire setup.

Samshik, I'm thinking I'd like you to pinkie-swear you're not the owner of this website...and if not, you have a *much* higher risk tolerance than many of us here at OPF.

Happygoin, I "pinky-swear" that I have no connection at all with owns this service. Im not usually willing to take risks at all but I made sure to check up on this guy and others who used the service before going through with it. I feel much better now that I have a confirm# and can see my ticket on the airline website. If it does ultimately turn out well then I think I might use them again when we go to Europe. When I first posted this I wanted to see what you guys thought and it did weigh on me in my decision.

So you are paying for information, a code. Sounds like this is an airline employee trying to make a buck with confidential information he is privy to. How else would a code like that be known? Or a hacker who has figured it out. Bet it's not legal.

and how exactly did you pay for this transaction?
Did you mail him a check? Send him money via Western Union? Give him your credit card information? Or were you just instructed to leave the money in unmarked bills in a coffee can under a mailbox?
this is so fishy, it stinks all the way to Paris.

I paid him via Paypal (50% then 50% after he gave me the information). The code seems to be something you put while you are inputting the destinations and dates in a travel website. On the surface doesn't seem very technical
