Last night Mez and I shared a lovely dinner @ Chez Josephine. They had extended the RW $35.00 3 course dinner deal through Labor Day. We started with Champagne(seemed appropriate!) then both had the heirloom tomato salad (after polishing off our cheese puffs!) Then I went for the allegedly boneless quail (dismembered but not de-boned ) with summer bean salad and Mez had the steak and fries. Both finished with an apple tart with calvados sorbet. Conversation flowed with the Champagne! (no hand kissing bu the SW was not in attendance this time! ;D) Jean Claude greeting folks in his smoking jacket, slippers and red framed glasses! After 2 hrs I walked Mez to her performance of "! Man, 2 Guvnors" (I had seen it 2 weeks ago!) and I continued on walking back home. Passed the Eric Kayser bakery...where Mez had been earlier in the day..which was still busy! But did not go in...save those goodies for the PPD...and maybe they will have their booze license by then!

It seems like RW takes place very often. Sounds like a wonderful meal and a lovely GTG. So glad you girls got to meet. BTW, while the 2 of your were dining together, I was having my farewell dinner with my N.Y. family. I am now back in Israel, and I'm trying to settle in. After 5 weeks in N.Y., it always takes a while.

So there was no hand kissing. What kind of kissing was there? I met the lovely Mez the next day. She was kind enough to offer me her spare ticket to the US Open tennis. We had a fabulous time. We met in the lobby of the Algonquin hotel first. My reservation included 2 free drinks in the beautiful lobby bar. We both had a Cosmopolitan. DB Bistro Moderne is next to the hotel, which was the venue for the 2009 BBAOPFGTG. So off we went. This is the table we sat at during the 2009 GTG: We sat nearby. Mez had their famous burger and I had confit du canard. And off we went to the Open. The tennis was great, and the company even better. I also visited the Cloisters museum. This stained glass reminded me of Paris. Thanks again Mez for inviting me. How wonderful to find a friend who loves Paris AND tennis!

Jody - the Cloisters is in a great setting. I took the subway to 190th, then a pleasant walk through Fort Tryon Park to get there. This is what you see when you emerge from the subway: And some pictures from the park: And a couple from inside the Cloisters. A really pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

" Now there's a saucy comment! The Algonquin....how swank... shades of Dorothy Parker and the famous Round Table! Sure you two did it justice!

I had a lovely time at both of the GTGs in NYC.
Chez Josephine was fun. Good food and an atmospheric restaurant.
The Cosmos at the Algonquin were divine! We should have started earlier and had another. :-)
Of course, it goes without saying that seeing Geordy and Janet again was *the* highlight.
I am in Dublin right now and I have to say I had the most amazing raspberry tart from a French bakery the other day. It beats hands down any pastry I have ever eaten in France! Truly!
I gave packed my bags and am heading to Paris tomorrow for a fun-filled OPF weekend.
