I'm soooo excited! It will have been almost three years since I've had the opportunity to return to Paris. I found an amazing deal on US Airways from DFW-CDG round trip for only 30,000 miles. Too good to pass up. It will be my first trip alone, which I'm excited about, and my first time in the dead of winter since 1999. Winter in Paris is my favorite, something about those cranky Parisians longing for spring that I love!! I work for Starwood, and the only availability is le Meridien etoile...I know this is on the edge of the 17th, but is it fairly easily accessible to line 1? I wish the W Opera was available...I'll keep checking!

That is a great FF miles deal! Sounds like a fun trip. You're right, the Meridien Etoile is really close to line 1 of the metro--should make it easy to get around Paris.

Curious FH1978...how good is the working for Starwoods benefit, if I may ask? I stayed in the Meridian Montparnasse...wasn't crazy about the could be a hotel anywhwere, no open windows thing but otherwise a good hotel....as I'm sure you know! Been to the bars at the Etoile one..nice! Sure you'll have a fabulous time.....checking out Delta FF flights myself!

The benefits are great! Typically a hotel room ranges from $49 - $89 per night for employees, depending on the brand. Makes travel much more affordable.
